Congratulations to the DCC STEM Grade 11 students for successfully completing the Basic First Aid Training- Assessment last March 6, 2026, with the theme “Ready to Save, Ready to Serve: Empowering Disaster-Ready Youth with First Aid Skills.”"𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗦𝗮𝘃𝗲, 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲: 𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿-𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗔𝗶𝗱 𝗦𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀". The activity highlighted hands-on evaluation of skills such as CPR, bandaging, splinting, lifting, and proper emergency response.

This assessment strengthened students’ confidence and preparedness, equipping them to respond effectively and care for others in times of need.

• Helps save the lives of patients in need of blood transfusion
• Promotes the production of new blood cells in the body
• Helps maintain good blood circulation
• Gives you a free basic health screening before donation
• Promotes volunteerism and community service

✅ 𝐐𝐔𝐀𝐋𝐈𝐅𝐈𝐂𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐒 𝐓𝐎 𝐃𝐎𝐍𝐀𝐓𝐄 𝐁𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐃
✔️ Age must be 18 to 65 years old. However, 16–17 years old may donate with a parent’s/guardian’s consent.
✔️Minimum weight: 50 kg or 110 lbs.
✔️Must have normal blood pressure (110/70 to 130/90 mmHg) and normal body temperature.
✔️Must get enough rest and sleep before the day of donation.
✔️Must not have fresh tattoos or piercings.
✔️Must not have any acute or chronic diseases.
✔️Must not take any drugs or alcohol within 24 hours before the scheduled donating time.
✔️Must not smoke at least 2 hours before donation.

📝 𝐏𝐑𝐄𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐒 & 𝐀𝐅𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐂𝐀𝐑𝐄

Before Donating Blood:
• Get enough rest and sleep
• Eat a light meal
• Increase water intake

After Donating Blood:
• Apply pressure to the puncture site
• Drink plenty of fluids
• Avoid strenuous activities
• Avoid stooping down
• If you feel unwell, inform the Red Cross personnel immediately

The SPRCY DCC Council recently participated in the 21st Chapter Youth Assembly and 14th Advisers League Assembly held on February 22, 2026. Guided by the theme "Anchored in Service: Where Humanity Inspires Leadership," the SPRCY delegation joined fellow Red Cross Youth across Davao City to witness the election of new leaders, review the governing constitution, and celebrate the accomplishments of the past biennium.

This experience not only strengthened the leadership skills of the SPRCY officers but also inspired them to continue their dedicated service to the community.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊 | 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓

The dedicated officers and members of the Senior Plus Red Cross Youth–Davao Central College Council proudly volunteered to provide First Aid Services to Senior High School students during Strand Day 2025 held on December 17, 2025. Throughout the one-day event, the volunteers maintained a visible and readily accessible first-aid presence, ensuring immediate and effective response to any medical concerns and helping mitigate potential emergencies.

This meaningful experience not only ensured the safety and well-being of the participants but also served as an opportunity to strengthen the SPRCY–DCC programs and campaigns. Through their service, the volunteers continued to promote a safe and conducive learning environment while fostering a strong culture of preparedness, quick thinking, and compassion in times of emergency.

Even with the sudden announcement of the activity, the Senior Plus Red Cross Youth – DCC Chapter is grateful to have been part of the Davao Central College–Basic Education Fire Drill conducted last December 10, 2025. The activity was successfully carried out in cooperation with the Bureau of Fire Protection.

This experience was vital for all of us DCCians, as it equipped us with practical knowledge and highlighted the importance of being alert and prepared at all times.
