Good news! Our school has completed the structural inspection by the City Engineerβs Office following the recent earthquake. All buildings and facilities are declared safe for occupancy.
Classes and school operations will resume as scheduled. Thank you to the City Engineerβs Office for the quick assessment, and to everyone for your patience and cooperation.
The safety of our learners, teachers, and staff will always come first π

π’ ADVISORY TO ALL PARENTS, GUARDIANS, AND LEARNERS
In line with the ongoing structural assessment being conducted by the Office of the City Building Official (OCBO) following the recent earthquake, only schools that have been officially cleared and included in the final list released by the City Government are allowed to resume face-to-face classes.
As of this time, Leon A. Garcia Sr. Elementary School has not yet received official clearance from the OCBO. While assessments may have already been conducted, the final declaration on the safety of school buildings rests solely with the OCBO after a thorough review of inspection results.
Therefore, BLENDED LEARNING MODALITY shall continue in our school until further notice.
We kindly ask all parents and learners to wait for the official advisory from the school regarding the resumption of face-to-face classes.
The safety and well-being of our learners, teachers, and personnel remain our highest priority.

In anticipation of possible aftershocks and pending the completion of ongoing structural assessments, government offices in Davao City, including local government offices and national government agencies, shall adopt a work-from-home arrangement tomorrow, June 9, 2026, EXCEPT for offices providing safety and security, health, sanitation, traffic management, social services, and disaster and emergency response services.
The private sector is encouraged to adopt similar arrangements to ensure the welfare and safety of their employees.
Face-to-face classes at all levels in both public and private educational institutions shall remain suspended tomorrow, June 9, 2026, pending the completion of safety inspections.
Educational institutions are encouraged to adopt online or distance learning modalities to ensure the welfare and safety of their students and personnel.
