This meaningful occasion marks the conclusion of the Holy Month of Ramadan, a time dedicated to reflection, devotion, and self-discipline for our Muslim brothers and sisters.

In observance of this holiday, there will be no classes or office transactions across all campuses of the University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP) on the said date.

At USeP, we recognize that our diversity, even in our beliefs, is our strength. The rich cultural and religious traditions within our community unite us and inspire a learning environment where respect, understanding, and collaboration thrive.

Let us take this opportunity to honor these traditions, strengthen our bonds, and celebrate the values that make our University a vibrant and inclusive place for all.

The workshop focused on expanding the Universityโ€™s implementation of Advancing CDIO. This version of the CDIO Framework is specifically designed for non-engineering programs, which strengthens learner-centered, experiential, and outcomes-based instruction across disciplines.
Faculty representatives from the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), College of Education (CEd), College of Business Administration (CBA), College of Applied Economics (CAEc), College of Information and Computing (CIC), College of Technology (CT), College of Engineering (CoE) and, School of Medicine (SoM) participated in the two-day event.
CIO Director Dr. Genna J. Carmelo opened the workshop by emphasizing the significance of enhancing faculty capability to apply the Advancing CDIO framework in course design and curriculum implementation. She underscored that strengthening these competencies supports the Universityโ€™s mission of producing innovative, industry-responsive, and future-ready graduates.
Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Jeneifer C. Nueva provided an in-depth discussion on the Advancing CDIO Framework and its adaptability to non-engineering fields. She highlighted the importance of integrating Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) to ensure that teaching practices remain relevant, data-driven, and aligned with institutional outcomes and accreditation standards.
Meanwhile, CDIO Head Dr. Joie D. Cataytay discussed the role of CDIO in enhancing teaching-learning activities (TLAs) and outcome-based curriculum design. She emphasized that the Advancing CDIO Framework strengthens interdisciplinary learning and supports the Universityโ€™s preparations for curriculum revision.
University President Dr. Bonifacio G. Gabales, Jr. underscored the importance of aligning CDIO practices with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), accreditation requirements, and industry expectations. He encouraged faculty members to develop TLAs that promote creativity, critical thinking, and lifelong learning, especially in non-engineering contexts.
Throughout the workshop, participants engaged in writeshops and group activities focused on designing interdisciplinary projects, aligning course outcomes with CDIO standards, and developing CDIO-aligned syllabi and modules. The program also included the sharing of best practices, output presentations, critiquing sessions, and feedback-giving.
The outputs of the workshop include CDIO-aligned course plans or learning modules and a compilation of resource materials to support future capability-building activities. These outputs aim to enhance instructional quality, promote innovation, and institutionalize continuous quality improvement across non- engineering programs.
This initiative reaffirms USePโ€™s commitment to educational excellence, quality assurance, and transformative curriculum development, as it continues to strengthen its Advancing CDIO implementation throughout the University.

This commemoration pays tribute not only to Ninoy Aquinoโ€™s sacrifice but also reminds us of the enduring Filipino spirit: courageous, principled, and devoted to the greater good.
As a unified USeP community, let us take this moment to recognize that heroism is not found only in prominent historical figures but also in each of us, whenever we choose courage over fear, principle over convenience, and the greater good over personal interest.
May we continue to live out this spirit in the way we learn, serve, and lead, remaining steadfast in our shared commitment to excellence and nation-building.

JUST IN: All websites under the edu.ph domain are reportedly down, as of writing.

The domain, which is commonly used by universities and educational institutions in the Philippines, is under the PHNet handler. However, the Ateneo's website is unaffected because of its domain .edu.

PHNet is yet to issue a fix on the situation.
