[JUST CONCLUDED] The University of Southeastern Philippines School of Law (USeP SoL), through its Sanag Bar Operations - 2026, successfully concluded Lecture #7 of the 2026 Bar Lecture Series.

The comprehensive session, proudly presented in partnership with Rex Bookstore and Rex Education, took place virtually via Zoom on Friday, August 21, 2026. The primary objective of this lecture was to strengthen the foundational legal knowledge of the attendees, focusing heavily on equipping them with the expertise required to navigate massive and complex Bar subjects.

The event successfully brought together the Agila Baristas, demonstrating their steadfast dedication to rigorous preparation and continuous learning in their journey toward the Bar.

To provide a high-yield academic review, the program delved deeply into the intricacies of Civil Law. We were incredibly privileged to feature Dean Marianne Beltran- Angeles as our esteemed guest lecturer. Dean Beltran- Angeles meticulously guided the participants through the complexities of Obligations and Contracts. She also gave general bar tips and Oblicon FAQs to ensure the attendees are strategically equipped and guide their subsequent review efforts.

[JUST CONCLUDED] The University of Southeastern Philippines School of Law (USeP SoL), through its 2026 Bar Operations, successfully concluded its three-week Summer Law School Program.

The intensive program took place over three consecutive weekends on May 29 to 30, June 6 to 7, and June 13 to 14, 2026. The primary objective of the initiative was to equip attendees with a scientific approach to legal education while sharpening their analytical capabilities. By blending an immersive learning environment with early mentorship, the program focused heavily on strengthening core legal skills essential for academic and professional success.

The event successfully brought together a diverse group of more than 120 participants from various academic and professional backgrounds. This group of attendees was largely comprised of college students, working professionals, current and aspiring law students from various schools.

To provide a comprehensive foundation, the program was divided into three main academic sessions followed by practical application.

The first session featured USeP SoL Dean Jamil Adrian Khalil L. Matalam, who provided a foundational discussion on the Introduction to the Study of Law. For the second session, USeP SoL Faculty Member Atty. Imma Coney P. Olayan guided the participants through a practical analysis of How to Read and Digest Cases. The final lecture session was led by fellow faculty member Atty. Camille B. Remoroza, who shared vital technical strategies on How to Answer Bar Exam Questions.

To ensure the lessons were fully absorbed, the three lecture sessions were succeeded by personalized coaching sessions. Each participant was assigned to the respective lecturers for direct mentorship, allowing for targeted feedback and skill refinement. The USeP SoL Bar Operations extends its gratitude to the expert speakers, organizers, and dedicated participants who made this academic milestone a resounding success.

[๐‘๐„๐‚๐„๐๐“๐‹๐˜ ๐‡๐€๐๐๐„๐๐„๐ƒ] USeP School of Law Celebrates National Womenโ€™s Month in Purple

The University of Southeastern Philippines School of Law (USeP-SoL) joined the nationwide celebration of National Womenโ€™s Month through a collective display of support for womenโ€™s empowerment and gender equality.

Last Wednesday, faculty members, administrative staff, and law students proudly wore purple shirts within the SoL premises as a symbol of solidarity with the continuing advocacy for womenโ€™s rights and leadership. Others who were attending classes online also participated by wearing purple during their virtual sessions, allowing the celebration to extend beyond the physical classroom and into the digital learning space.

Through this simple yet meaningful gesture, the USeP-SoL community demonstrated its commitment to recognizing the strength, resilience, and contributions of women in society and within the legal profession. Whether on campus or through the screen, members of the SoL stood united in celebrating women and reaffirming the importance of advancing gender equality and an inclusive society.

In celebration of the 24 new Agila Lawyers who took their oath last February 6, 2026, a testimonial dinner was held on January 31, 2026. University of Southeastern Philippines School of Law (USeP SoL) Dean Jamil Adrian Khalil L. Matalam welcomed the new lawyers, guest speakers, University officials, faculty members, and Bar Operations heads.

On behalf of the University, President Dr. Bonifacio Gabales Jr. congratulated the new Agila Lawyers, together with Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Jeneifer C. Nueva, and Extension Division Director Dr. Roby V. Pagong.

Hon. Rowena M. Apao-Adlawan, Executive Judge of the RTC Davao City and Convenor of the Davao City Justice Zone, reminded the new lawyers in her message not to rush into practice and to always retain respect for the teachers who helped shape their journey.

Hon. Rogelio G. Largo, Associate Justice of the Court of Appeals and former Dean of USeP SoL, shared his reflections on responsibility and service, reminding the new lawyers to reflect not only on what they can do as lawyers, but on what they ought to do.

Two of the new lawyers, Atty. Princess Pilar D. Arpilleda and Atty. Ralph Renzo T. Naquila, expressed gratitude to their law school friends turned fellow lawyers and their families, recognizing that this victory is not theirs alone. They also shared stories of the mentors who pushed them from the halls of the law school to the very gates of the testing center, joking that they still hear their teachersโ€™ voices while answering the exam.

Following the testimonial speeches, the new Agila Lawyers took their Oath of Membership to the USeP SoL Alumni Association, administered by Atty. Haidee D. Abordo-Temblor, Vice President of the Association.

The USeP SoL community congratulates its twenty-four new Agila Lawyers on this important milestone in their journey.

Twelve (12) Level II Certified Law Student Practitioners (LSPs) took their oath on January 8, 2026, under the guidance of Clinical Legal Education (CLEP) II Faculty-in-Charge, Atty. Arlene M. Lorejo-Cosape. The oath was administered by Hon. Rowena M. Apao-Adlawan, the Executive Judge of Regional Trial Court, Davao City.

Under Rule 138-A, certified LSPs are allowed limited practice of law, subject to the rules and under the supervision and approval of a supervising lawyer.

These LSPs are expected to help increase access to justice for the marginalized sectors while learning the value of legal professional social responsibility, to prepare them for the practice of law.
