𝗡𝗘𝗪𝗦| 𝗗𝗜𝗣𝗠𝗖𝗜 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗣𝗮𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗽𝗲𝗻 𝗝𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗺 𝗦𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗗𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗘𝗻𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴.

SHARIFF AGUAK, MAGUINDANAO DEL SUR — Four School Paper Advisers (SPAs) from the Basic Education Department of Datu Ibrahim Paglas Memorial College, Inc. joined fellow campus journalism practitioners in a two-day Division-Wide Enhancement Training and Workshop on Campus Journalism held at Shariff Aguak Central Elementary School on September 9–10, 2026.

The training officially opened on September 9, bringing together student journalists, School Paper Advisers, and campus journalism coordinators from various schools across the Schools Division of Maguindanao del Sur.
Representing DIPMCI were Elementary School Paper Advisers 𝗦𝗶𝗿 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝘀𝗶𝗱 𝗞𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗺 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗶𝗿 𝗔𝗺𝗶𝗿 𝗧. 𝗞𝘂𝗯𝗼𝗻𝗴, along with Secondary School Paper Advisers 𝗦𝗶𝗿 𝗠𝗼𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗱𝗶𝗻 𝗔. 𝗛𝗮𝗺𝘀𝗮 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗥𝗼𝗯𝗶𝗻 𝗚. 𝗦𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗮.

Organized by the Schools Division Office of Maguindanao del Sur, the activity aimed to strengthen the knowledge and practical skills of participants in various areas of campus journalism. It also provided an opportunity for advisers and journalism practitioners from different schools to learn, share experiences, and further improve their approaches to guiding young campus journalists.

The training was led throughout the two-day activity by Ma’am Laina Karnain-Baganian, Campus Journalism Division Focal Person, who facilitated the sessions designed to enhance participants’ understanding and competence in campus journalism.

More than simply gaining new techniques, the training served as a reminder of the important role of campus journalism in giving students a platform to write, speak, investigate, and tell stories that matter within their school communities.

With the knowledge and experiences gained from the activity, the School Paper Advisers are expected to bring these learnings back to their respective departments and further guide the school’s young journalists as they continue developing their skills in responsible and meaningful journalism.

Today, July 16, 2026, the pupils from Grade 3 to 6 of the IBED Department actively participated in the Supreme Elementary Learner Government (SELG) elections by casting their votes for the candidates of their choice. The voting process was conducted in an orderly, peaceful, and fair manner, giving every learner the opportunity to exercise their right to vote responsibly.

The activity encouraged the pupils to practice honesty, fairness, and responsibility in choosing their student leaders. It also strengthened their understanding of democracy and the importance of active participation in school governance while making their voices heard through their votes.

Last July 14, 2026, the pupils of the IBED Department conducted a room-to-room campaign for the Supreme Elementary Learner Government (SELG) elections. The candidates visited each classroom to introduce themselves, present their platforms, and encourage their fellow pupils to vote wisely.

The activity gave the pupils an opportunity to get to know the candidates and learn about their goals and plans for the school. It also helped promote leadership, responsibility, and active participation in the election process, while encouraging every learner to choose their leaders wisely.

📢 EXECUTIVE ORDER | CLASS SUSPENSION

Pursuant to the Executive Order No. 022, series of 2026, classes in all levels, both public and private schools in the province of Maguindanao del Sur, are hereby suspended on Thursday, July 9, 2026, due to the continuous effects of the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat).

This measure is implemented to prioritize the safety and welfare of students, teachers, and school personnel amid the prevailing weather conditions.

The public is advised to remain vigilant, monitor official weather advisories, and follow the guidance of local authorities.

Please be informed that there will be NO CLASSES in all levels tomorrow, July 9, 2026 (Thursday), during the morning session, as all faculty and staff members are required to attend a program convened by the School President.

Class schedules are as follows:
Basic Education Department (BED): Classes will resume on Friday, July 10, 2026.
College Department: Regular classes will resume tomorrow, July 9, 2026, in the afternoon.
