The crisis was never about Filipinos not working hard enough. It’s that we’re working ourselves to the bone and we're still just one hospital bill or one economic crisis away from becoming homeless.

We’re stuck doing impossible math every single day. We watch the price of basic necessities such as food and electricity skyrocket while our wages remain at a standstill. It’s insulting to be told to “budget wisely” or "stay resilient" when you’re already choosing between buying medicine or keeping the lights on.

You can never budget your way out of a system that’s rigged against you.

While everyday Filipinos are squeezed by surging electric bills and relentless fuel costs the past month, those in power continue to exploit and swim on billions of public funds.

A country that runs on the sweat of its workers should not be a country where those same workers die because they couldn't afford healthcare. We don't need another tribute or another empty promise. We need a system where hard work actually means a life of dignity, not just a life of survival.

The Filipino working class carries this nation. It’s about time that this nation and its government finally stood up for us.
