With the rapid rise of internet slang, emojis, and casual chat style, itโ€™s easy to forget that messaging etiquette still matters, especially with teachers.

What works with friends can come across as rushed or disrespectful in a chat about school-related matters.

Here's an elaborated guide on how to message your teachers:

1. Start politely - A simple โ€œGreat morning, Maโ€™am/Sir!โ€ sets the tone for a conversation starter.

2. Introduce yourself โ€“ Mention your full name and your section. For example, โ€œI am Lucy Gray Baird from HT 111-12.โ€

2. Be clear and specific - Say what you need right away instead of just your greetings. Are you asking about an activity? How about a quiz? What about materials you need to bring? Make sure to specify.

3. Keep it respectful โ€“ forget about slangs like โ€œlol,โ€ โ€œidk,โ€ or โ€œplsโ€ and use full words. Trust us, itโ€™s not worth losing your aura points.

4. Mind your timing + tone - Message during reasonable hours when you can, and read it back to check if it sounds polite while waiting for a response.
