Mama, hindi kailangan 1 hour ang reading practice para may progress. 😅
Minsan, the reason ayaw na ayaw ng bata magbasa is because reading time feels too long, too serious, or too pressured.
Try this instead:
10-minute reading routine lang.
Not perfect.
Not complicated.
Just short, calm, and consistent.
Here’s a simple structure you can try today:
Minute 1–2: Warm-up muna
Start with easy words your child already knows.
The goal is not to test.
The goal is to make your child feel, “Kaya ko pala.”
You can say:
“Start tayo sa easy words muna.”
Minute 3–7: One small reading task
Choose just one.
Read 3 short sentences.
Practice 5 words.
Read one short paragraph together.
Point to familiar words.
Huwag muna pilitin tapusin lahat.
Mas okay na matapos ang session na confident siya, kaysa matapos na pagod at ayaw na ulitin bukas.
Minute 8–10: Praise + recap
End with one specific praise.
Instead of just “very good,” try:
“Good job, you tried that word again.”
“Napansin ko mas mabilis mo nabasa ’yan today.”
“Ang galing kasi kahit nahirapan ka, tinry mo pa rin.”
Small praise makes reading feel safe.
And when reading feels safe, mas willing ang bata magtry ulit.
So today, don’t aim for perfect reading.
Aim for this:
10 minutes. Less pressure. One small win.
That already counts, Mama. 💛
Try this today and comment *10 MINUTES* if you want a simple routine you can follow this summer.
