Anime taught you Japanese wrong 😳 (kind of)
If you've picked up Japanese phrases from anime, you're not alone — but a few of them aren't things you'd actually say in real life. Characters often shout "Baka!" to mean "idiot," but in real conversation that word can land harsher than intended. Or take "Omae" for "you" — in anime it sounds cool and casual, but in real life it's actually pretty rude unless you're close friends. The good news? Once you know the everyday Japanese underneath the anime version, you'll actually be able to have a conversation — not just quote your favorite show.
No shade to anime — it's actually a great way to get interested in Japanese! But real conversations need real Japanese. That's where we come in. 😄

Let's be real — we've ALL been that one late student na naghahabol pa habang nagsisimula na ang klase. 🏃💨 Sabihin natin sa sarili natin: hindi 'yan tayo starting today.

Here's your official pre-class checklist bago ka mapahiya sa sarili mo:

🚫 Being late — kasi hindi ka main character sa dramang "sorry ma'am, traffic"
🚫 No study materials — paano ka matututo kung wala kang dalang kahit ano?
🚫 Phone in class — the group chat can wait, promise
🚫 Refusing to speak — "English only" energy ka? Ma'am, we're literally here to learn Japanese 😭
🚫 Being shy — walang epic Nihongo journey na nagsimula sa katahimikan
🚫 Google Translate as a crutch — mema, we SEE you
🚫 Distracting others — please, hayaan mong mag-focus si bestie
🚫 Stressing too much — deep breaths, hindi 'to Squid Game

Basically: dalhin niyo lang yung sarili niyo, effort niyo, at bukas na isipan. Yun na yun. 🙌
