On June 12, we celebrate Philippine Independence Day. It is a regular holiday under Republic Act No. 4166 that marks the 1898 declaration of independence in Kawit Cavite. On this day we remember the sacrifices of our ancestors and honor heroes like Jose Rizal and Andres Bonifacio whose courage love for country and fight for freedom shaped the nation we have today.
