Theme: Knowing Who We Are and Our Families
Get ready for an exciting and meaningful start to our Kindergarten journey! This week is all about helping our young learners feel welcomed, confident, and connected as they explore themselves, their classmates, and their new classroom environment.
WEEK 1 HIGHLIGHTS (Transition Week)
Day 1: Welcome to our Kindergarten classroom!
Learners will enjoy a classroom tour and begin getting to know their teacher and new friends.
Day 2: My feelings today
Children will identify and express basic emotions in a safe and supportive environment.
Day 3: Classroom rules and routines
Learners will understand simple rules and daily routines that help keep our classroom organized and respectful.
Day 4: “I belong to a Kindergarten Class!”
Children will build connections by getting to know classmates, teachers, and important adults like parents.
Day 5: Classroom orientation
Learners will explore daily routines and responsibilities through different blocks of time such as Arrival, Circle Time, Play Time, Nap Time, and Dismissal.
Performance Standard:
Learners will develop the ability to manage emotions, make decisions, recognize similarities and differences, and express themselves through personal experiences. They will actively participate in physical activities, use their hands to create, perform coordinated movements, and practice health and safety habits.
Content Standard:
Learners will understand attitudes, emotions, similarities and differences among people, the concept of family, and the importance of physical health, safety, and appropriate movement.
