Happy Resurrection Sunday!

Lenten Message from our Administrator

Trending during this season of graduation and recognition in schools. We read congratulatory messages on Social media, left and right, attributed to students for their academic and extra-curricular achievements in their class.

Interestingly, the Lent Season is also a sort of graduation–the LORD JESUS submitting to us His achievements at the Cross of Calvary, when he proclaimed ‘TETELASTAI,’ It is finished!

Christ has fully satisfied the requirements of the law for the forgiveness of sin when He died on the Cross. Jesus offered Himself as a sin offering only once, unlike the earthly priest who needed to do it again and again. He has no daily need, like those high priests, to offer up sacrifices, first for His own sins and then for the sins of the people, because He did this once for all time when He offered up Himself.

Second, Christ has ended our separation and enmity from God because of sin. Ephesians 2:14 says that Christ himself has brought peace to us. He united Jews and Gentiles into one people when, in his own body on the cross, he broke down the wall of hostility that separated us. One phenomena that took place after the death of Christ was the curtain in the sanctuary of the Temple was torn in two, from top to bottom. Later in Hebrews, this was explained to us that the death of Jesus opened a new and life-giving way through the curtain in the Most Holy Place. In Christ, we have an open invitation to come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.

Third, When Jesus said it is finished, He ended our slavery from sin and its wages which is death. In the olden times, armies wage war through their representatives.And the winner would run up to the highest point of the battle field and shout, “Tetelestai!” The battle has been won, I have overcome! In 1Samuel 17,we read how Goliath challenged the israelites to choose one man to come down and fight him, with a premise that if he kills Goliath the Philistine champion, all of them will be slaves of Israel. A challenge that David accepted, and he triumphed over the Philistine with only a sling and a stone.
Fast forward, while Christ was hanging on the Cross, He was actually acting out that one moment in history, where He declared that He has defeated death, the last enemy to be destroyed.

And this accomplishments– Jesus Christ would like to submit to you.
Will you receive Him today?. If so, I would like to offer the following prayer for you:

“Jesus, I receive you in my heart as Lord and Savior. Thank you for offering Yourself as a one-time offering for the forgiveness of my sin, thank you for ending my separation from God, and making peace with Him. In Your Name, I pray, Amen.
