Hindi basta-basta nabuo ang wikang ginagamit natin ngayon. Sa likod ng bawat salitang ating binibigkas, isinusulat, at ipinapasa ay may mga taong, ideya, at pangyayaring naging bahagi ng mahabang paglalakbay ng ating wika.

Isa rito si 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐞𝐥 𝐋. 𝐐𝐮𝐞𝐳𝐨𝐧, 𝒜𝓂𝒶 𝓃𝑔 𝒲𝒾𝓀𝒶𝓃𝑔 𝒫𝒶𝓂𝒷𝒶𝓃𝓈𝒶. Noong 1937, sa bisa ng 𝐄𝐱𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐎𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐍𝐨. 𝟏𝟑𝟒, ipinahayag ang pambansang wika na ibabatay sa 𝒯𝒶𝑔𝒶𝓁ℴ𝑔－isang mahalagang yugto sa kasaysayan ng pagbuo ng ating pambansang wika.

Kasabay ng pag-alala sa mga ugat ng ating wika, mahalaga ring tingnan kung saan ito patungo. Sa Buwan ng Wika 2026, binibigyang-diin ng tema na “𝐖𝐢𝐤𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐅𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐨 𝐚𝐭 𝐀𝐈: 𝐊𝐚𝐬𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐤𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐧 𝐬𝐚 𝐘𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐧𝐠 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐬𝐲𝐨𝐧“ ang makabuluhang ugnayan ng wika at teknolohiya. Sa panahong napakaraming impormasyong isang pindot lamang ang layo, mas mahalaga ang marunong magsaliksik, magsuri, magtanong, at gumamit ng teknolohiya nang responsable.

Bilang mga 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐬, ang pag-iingat sa wika ay hindi lamang paglingon sa nakaraan. Ito rin ay ang paggamit nito upang matuto, mag-isip, lumikha, at makibahagi sa paghubog ng kinabukasan.

Dahil ang wika ay hindi lamang bahagi ng ating kasaysayan—𝒾𝓉ℴ 𝓇𝒾𝓃 𝒶𝓃𝑔 𝓉𝒾𝓃𝒾𝑔 𝓃𝒶 𝒹𝒶𝓁𝒶 𝓃𝒶𝓉𝒾𝓃 𝓅𝒶𝓉𝓊𝓃𝑔ℴ 𝓈𝒶 𝒽𝒾𝓃𝒶𝒽𝒶𝓇𝒶𝓅. 🇵🇭✨
