Last August 8, 2026, Representatives from the Dr. Mariano Que College of Pharmacy, Keziah Kharis Pajaron and Arnel Jr B. Tolentino, competed and won at the 71st International Pharmaceutical Studentsโ Federation (IPSF) World Congress at Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, Thailand.
Out of 30 participants, Pajaron secured two championship titles in the Clinical Skills EventโAdvanced Level and the Rare Disease and Equity in Access Hackathon, while Tolentino earned 1st runner-up in the Patient Counseling EventโAdvanced Level.
Pajaron emerged as the champion in the Advanced Level of the Clinical Skills Event, where she showcased her pharmaceutical knowledge, clinical judgment, and ability to make decisions centered on patient careโand the Rare Disease and Equity in Access Hackathon, where she also led the team to victory.
According to Pajaron, she brought the Filipino perspective to the international stage because she believed that people who have actually witnessed the gaps in healthcare access deserved to be part of the conversation.
โComing from the Philippines, a developing country where limitations in healthcare access and resources remain a reality for many communities, I felt that I had a unique perspective to contribute,โ said Pajaron.
Meanwhile, Tolentino earned 1st Runner-Up in the Patient Counseling EventโAdvanced Level, where he demonstrated his pharmaceutical knowledge, communication skills, and clinical judgment centered on patient care. He also served as an official delegate under the Federation of Junior Chapters of the Philippine Pharmacists Association, where he served as the National Secretary.
The competition featured pharmacy students from 15 countries showcasing different educational, cultural, and healthcare backgrounds.
With the achievements under their name, Pajaron and Tolentino proved that Filipino student pharmacists can make their own mark on the global stage.
