Life-Saving Skills Seminar: Love in Action, Bandage, Carry, and Calm

On May 28, Student Character Formation and Welfare Development Unit together with the Student Peer Discipline Agents(SPDA) held a meaningful seminar titled “Life-Saving Skills: Bandaging, Patient Carries, and Psychological First Aid,” with the theme “Love in Action: Bandage, Carry, and Calm.” Led by resource speakers Ms. Maria Lourdes J. Javier and Mr. Bien M. Añonuevo, the activity equipped participants with essential skills to respond effectively in times of need—blending practical techniques with compassion and care.

Beyond learning proper bandaging, safe patient carries, and psychological first aid, the event reminded everyone that true service is rooted in kindness and readiness to help. It was a powerful reminder that every skill learned is a gift we can share, and that through preparedness and empathy, we become capable of making a difference and saving lives. This gathering not only built competence but also strengthened the spirit of service—proving that love, when put into action, truly heals, supports, and uplifts.

Together for Mental Health: A Huge Success!

As we wrap up an incredible Mental Health
Awareness Month, we look back with immense gratitude at everything we’ve achieved together. Guided by our theme, "Together for Mental Health: Building a Culture of Care," our campus truly came alive with empathy, connection, and mindfulness!
From breaking down stigmas to holding space for one another, each activity brought us closer as a community:

* Opening Program & Campaign – Setting a powerful, supportive tone for the month.
* Mandala Mindfulness – Finding inner calm and centering our thoughts through art.
* Balloon Dart Activity – Letting go of stress and releasing tension in a fun way!
* Ikaw na Yarn! – Weaving beautiful threads of gratitude and connection.
* Mental Health Awareness Seminar – Gaining vital insights and coping strategies at Manny Villar Jr. Hall.

This impactful month would not have been possible without the dedicated teams working tirelessly behind the scenes.

Thank you to Kolehiyo ng Lungsod ng Dasmariñas (KLD), the Institute of Student Affairs, Character Education and Citizenship (ISACEC), and the Guidance and Counseling Services and Career Advice Unit for creating a safe, judgment-free space for everyone.

Most importantly, thank YOU to our students for showing up, participating, and looking out for one another!
