𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦 || Last Friday, August 14, 2026, the fourth-year students of the Bachelor of Library and Information Science assisted the faculty members of Bicol College in locating and selecting reference books during the final day of the 12th Library Book Fair at the Bicol College Main Library.

This initiative serves as a pre-training activity for the fourth-year students as they prepare to begin their Library Practice I during the first semester of Academic Year 2026–2027.

𝗠𝗔𝗟𝗜𝗚𝗔𝗬𝗔𝗡𝗚 𝗣𝗔𝗚𝗗𝗜𝗥𝗜𝗪𝗔𝗡𝗚 𝗡𝗚 𝗕𝗨𝗪𝗔𝗡 𝗡𝗚 𝗪𝗜𝗞𝗔!

Mula sa Kagawaran ng Agham Pang-aklatan at Pang-impormasyon, malugod naming binabati ang lahat ng Pilipino sa isang masaya at makabuluhang pagdiriwang ng Buwan ng Wika!

Ngayong taon, ang tema ng Buwan ng Wika ay: “𝗪𝗶𝗸𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗼 𝗮𝘁 𝗔𝗜: 𝗞𝗮𝘀𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗸𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗻 𝘀𝗮 𝗣𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗸𝘀𝗶𝗸 𝗮𝘁 𝗧𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘆 𝘀𝗮 𝗬𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗺 𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘀𝘆𝗼𝗻.” Binibigyang-diin nito ang ugnayan ng ating pambansang wika at ng patuloy na umuunlad na teknolohiya sa pagpapalawak ng kaalaman at pagpapayaman ng impormasyon.

Nais ipabatid ng temang ito sa atin na gamitin natin ang teknolohiya bilang kasangkapan upang lalo pang mapaunlad, at mapangalagaan ang ating sariling wika at kaalaman. Kasabay nito, huwag nating hayaang mapalitan nito ang ating kakayahang mag-isip nang kritikal, maging malikhain, at magpahalaga sa ating sariling kultura.

Muli, isang paalala para sa bawat Pilipino: gamitin natin nang wasto at may pananagutan ang teknolohiya, lalo na ang artipisyal na katalinuhan (𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘧𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘢𝘭 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘪𝘨𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦). Ito ay nilikha upang maging katuwang natin sa pagkatuto, pananaliksik, at pangangalap ng impormasyon, ngunit hindi upang maging kapalit ng ating sariling pag-iisip, pagkamalikhain, at pagpapahalaga sa sining, kultura, at yaman ng ating wika.

Sa pagdiriwang na ito, sama-sama nating ipagmalaki, paunlarin, at pahalagahan ang Wikang Filipino bilang sagisag ng ating pagkakakilanlan at pagkakaisa.

Muli, binabati namin ang lahat ng isang 𝗠𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘆??𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗮𝗴𝗱𝗶𝗿𝗶𝘄𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝘂𝘄𝗮𝗻 𝗻𝗴 𝗪𝗶𝗸𝗮!

𝗬𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗟𝗘𝗚𝗔𝗖𝗬 𝗟𝗜𝗩𝗘𝗦 𝗢𝗡, 𝗗𝗥. 𝗠𝗔𝗥𝗜𝗔 𝗟𝗨𝗭 𝗧. 𝗠𝗔𝗖𝗔𝗦𝗜𝗡𝗔𝗚

It is with heavy hearts that the Library and Information Science Society bids farewell to a leader, a mentor, and a mother to us all — Dr. Maria Luz T. Macasinag, President of Bicol College.

Dr. Maria Luz T. Macasinag gave so much of herself to Bicol College. Her leadership was felt in every corner of our campus, in the programs she pushed for, in the opportunities she opened for students, and in the quiet ways she made sure no one was left behind. To the Library and Information Science Society, she was one of our biggest supporters. She saw the value of what we do, and she made sure we had the chance to grow.

She was a woman who led with strength, but never lost her softness. A mother who nurtured not just her own family, but an entire community of students who looked up to her. A leader who worked hard, stayed humble, and inspired everyone around her to do better, not through pressure, but through example.

Her journey reminds us that leadership doesn't mean losing who you are. It means giving more of yourself, so others can rise. Her journey also reminds us that education is not just about knowledge—it is also about serving people with excellence, character, integrity, and leadership.

Pres Malu, we thank you for everything. Thank you for believing in us, for supporting our growth, and for showing us what it means to lead with both heart and purpose. Your legacy will stay with us, in every student you've touched, every lesson you've taught, and every part of Bicol College that carries your mark.

A beautiful chapter may ended, but the greatness of your story remains in our heart.

Your wisdom, impact, leadership, and legacy lives on. You will be forever in our hearts and memories.

May you rest in the loving embrace of God.

𝗜𝗦𝗔𝗡𝗚 𝗠𝗔𝗣𝗔𝗚𝗣𝗔𝗟𝗔𝗡𝗚 𝗔𝗥𝗔𝗪 𝗡𝗚 𝗞𝗔𝗚𝗜𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚𝗔𝗡!

Ang araw na ito ay hindi lamang isang simpleng araw—ito ay araw kung saan ay ipinagdiriwang natin ang kagitingan at katapatan ng ating magigiting na mga bayani na humulma sa pagkakakilanlan ng bansang Pilipinas, at ng mga Pilipino.

Ang kanilang mga sakripisyo para sa kalayaan ng ating bansa na magpahanggang sa ngayon ay tinatamasa, pati na rin ang mga kasalukuyang bayani na patuloy na nakikibaka para sa ikabubuti ng ating bansa ay dapat lamang na ating alalahanin at ipagdiwang. Wala tayo sa ating kinatatayuan ngayon kung hindi dahil sa kanilang mga sakripisyo.

Mula sa Library and Information Science Society, kami ay nakikiisa sa pagdiriwang ng Araw ng Kagitingan. Nawa'y huwag nating kalimutan ang kabayanihan ng mga Pilipino, at patuloy na pagsiklabin ang alab ng pagka-Pilipino.

The Library and Information Science Society proudly presents the students of the Bachelor of Library and Information Science program who are among the Dean's List Awardees for the First Semester of Academic Year 2025-2026.

Your dedication, hard work, and effort have led you to this success. This recognition is a reflection of the countless hours you invested in your studies and the commitment you showed throughout the semester. You have made the LIS program proud, and we celebrate this milestone with you.

The world needs librarians who are not only skilled, but excellent. And excellence, as you have proven, is not given. It is earned, page by page, semester by semester, one determined day at a time.

Keep striving, keep serving, and keep pursuing excellence. The best is yet to come.
