The Bicol University College of Arts and Letters โ€“ College Student Council (CAL-CSC), together with the College-Based Organizations (CBOs), successfully conducted its semestral ๐—–๐—”๐—Ÿ๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ถ๐—ด๐—ฎ๐—ป on August 3, 2026. In preparation for the official opening of classes, student leaders and volunteers joined forces to clean and beautify the Aquilino Bonto Building and the New CAL Building, helping create a more welcoming environment for the CAL community.

Through the collective efforts of the CAL-CSC and the CBOs, the initiative reflected the value of shared responsibility in maintaining a clean, safe, and conducive learning space. Beyond improving the college's surroundings, CALinigan served as a reminder that even simple acts of service can make a meaningful difference when done together.

The CAL-CSC extends its sincere gratitude to all the College-Based Organizations and representatives who participated in this initiative. Your dedication and willingness to serve made this activity possible. The quarterly University-Wide Earthquake Drill is being conducted across Bicol University today, August 7, 2026, under the supervision of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) - Daraga. Students of the College of Arts and Letters, together with the CAL-CSC and Department-Based Organization (DBO) officers, actively participated by performing the proper earthquake safety procedure: Duck, Cover, and Hold.

The drill serves as a reminder of the importance of disaster preparedness and awareness. By practicing the appropriate safety measures, members of the university are better equipped to respond effectively should a real earthquake occur.

Through initiatives like this, Bicol University continues to strengthen its culture of preparedness, ensuring that every student, faculty member, and personnel understands the importance of staying calm, alert, and ready during emergencies.

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) conducted the quarterly briefing at the New CAL Lobby, in light of preparation for the incoming university wide earthquake drill on Friday, August 7, 2026.
