The Prime Organization of English Majors (POEM) extends the most sophisticated congratulations to our very own Trisha Jane G. Estoconing, a first-year POEMian and Block Mayor, for securing the First Place (Unang Gantimpala) in the Pagsulat ng Maikling Kwento in celebration of the National Literature Month 2026.

She represented the College of Liberal Arts, Mathematics and Sciences (CLAMS) to a challenge where she crafted a compelling story based on her imagination and her passion for storytelling—letting her pen bleed its ink on a blank page.

In the delicate art of the short story, brevity is a virtue, but depth is a necessity. You’ve managed to capture both, proving that the English Language Studies discipline is not just about analyzing the greats—it’s about becoming one.

𝙈𝙊𝘿𝙀𝙍𝙉 𝙑𝙀𝙍𝙎𝙀𝙎, 𝙏𝙄𝙈𝙀𝙇𝙀𝙎𝙎 𝙍𝙊𝙊𝙏𝙎 ⏳📖

In honor of the National Literature Month, the Prime Organization of English Majors (POEM) along with the Rizal Center for Culture, Peace, and Creative Works (RCCPCW) opened its doors for the extended celebration of PATIK 2026, highlighting the much-awaited Creative Writing Workshop that was held via Zoom last April 29 to ensure the JRMSUans' voice remains as vibrant in the cloud as it is on the page.

The virtual workshop was attended by eager student artists and writers of the JRMSU-Main community, gracing the cool evening air with their creativity and passion for writing stories that matter. With the powerful theme, “Giving Voice to the Unseen, Unheard, and Unspoken,” the writing workshop features well-known keynote speakers—Mx. Jann Dainver Maravilla for play, film, and poetry session, and Ms. Leah Paladen for short story, novel, and creative nonfiction—both sharing their expertise to the virtual audience.

Nevertheless, we may have been muted by technology, but our narratives remain loud, clear, and distinctly ours. It turns out that the soul of our literature doesn't need a physical stage—just a stable connection and a story worth telling. 🖋️
