SCS participates in 2nd Quarter NSED 2026

Sulangon Central School participated in the Calendar Year (CY) 2026 2nd Quarter National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) on Thursday, June 18, at 9:00 a.m., joining schools and institutions nationwide in promoting disaster preparedness and earthquake awareness.

Learners, teachers, and school personnel performed the “Duck, Cover, and Hold” procedure and evacuated to designated safe areas following the sounding of the alarm.

The drill aimed to strengthen the school's emergency response capabilities and reinforce safety protocols during seismic events.

Led by School Principal Mrs. Erna C. Gasatan and SDRRM Coordinator Ms. Alona Mae C. Antabo, the activity highlighted the school's commitment to fostering a culture of preparedness, resilience, and safety among its stakeholders.

Sulangon Central School successfully conducted its 1st School Parents-Teachers Association (SPTA) General Assembly for School Year 2026–2027, attended by the parents and guardians of all learners.

The assembly served as an important platform for discussing school programs, policies, and initiatives aimed at ensuring a productive and successful school year.

Among the key topics highlighted was the implementation of the Three-Term School Year, with School Year 2026–2027 marking its first year of implementation. Parents were oriented on the revised academic calendar, learning schedule, and other important adjustments to help them better support their children's educational journey.

The gathering also reinforced the importance of strong collaboration between the school and the home in promoting learners' academic success, well-being, and holistic development.

Sulangon Central School extends its heartfelt appreciation to all parents and guardians for their active participation and unwavering support. Through unity, cooperation, and shared responsibility, we can create a more responsive and learner-centered educational environment for every learner.

Sulangon Central School officially welcomed learners for the opening of School Year 2026–2027 through its 1st Flag Raising Ceremony attended by pupils, teaching personnel, and non-teaching staff.

The first day of classes was marked by enthusiasm and excitement as learners returned to school and met their respective class advisers. An orientation by the section was also conducted to ensure a smooth and organized start of the school year.

Adding significance to the occasion was the visit of ASDS Aurelio A. Santisas, CESO VI, who conveyed his support and encouragement to the school community. Also present was the SDO Medical Team headed by Dr. Roderick M. Hamsirani, who conducted learners’ assessment activities for kindergarten as part of the division's commitment to promoting the health and well-being of young pupils.

As another academic year begins, Sulangon Central School remains committed to fostering a safe, inclusive, and learner-centered environment where every child can thrive and succeed.

As we conclude the final day of Brigada Eskwela and Oplan Balik Eskwela 2026, Sulangon Central School extends its heartfelt gratitude to all stakeholders, volunteers, parents, teachers, and community partners who generously shared their time, effort, and resources in preparing our school for the opening of classes.

A special thanks to the Barangay Officials of Barangay Sulangon, headed by Hon. Ramil A. Balladares, together with the Barangay Tanod, for the initiative of cleaning the school field, which helps in creating a safer and more welcoming environment for our learners.

𝗦𝗖𝗦 𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗧𝗔𝗥𝗔 𝗕𝗔𝗦𝗔 𝗧𝘂𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

SULANGON, Dapitan City — Fifty incoming Grade 2 learners and their parents celebrated the successful completion of the TARA BASA Tutoring Program 2026 during its culminating activity held at Sulangon Central School, marking the end of a 20-day literacy and parenting intervention that strengthened reading skills, fostered family engagement, and prepared young learners for the next stage of their educational journey.

Anchored on the theme, “Pagbasa, Pagkat-on, ug Pag-amuma: Panaghiusa Alang sa Mas Maayong Kaugmaon,” the program was implemented through the collaborative efforts of DSWD, JRMSU, and DepEd, with 19 student volunteers from JRMSU facilitating daily reading tutorials and parenting education sessions.

The initiative aimed to enhance the reading literacy of participating learners while equipping parents with essential knowledge and skills in child development and education.

Through daily instruction in alphabet recognition, vocabulary development, reading fluency, comprehension, writing, and values formation, learners showed notable improvement in their literacy skills, confidence, and readiness for Grade 2.

Parents likewise benefited from regular parenting sessions that emphasized their vital role in nurturing and educating their children.

The TARA BASA Tutoring Program concluded as a resounding success, demonstrating how the strong partnership among DSWD, JRMSU, and DepEd effectively improved learners' literacy skills, empowered parents, and strengthened community support for education.

Sulangon Central School formally concluded its Academic Recovery and Accessible Learning (ARAL) Summer Program 2026 with a Culmination Day held today, June 2, highlighting learners' achievements and recognizing the invaluable contributions of teachers, parents, and stakeholders in advancing academic recovery efforts.

Carrying the theme, “Reading as a Bridge for a Future Full of Hope,” the event underscored the importance of literacy in strengthening foundational skills, fostering a love for reading, and helping learners prepare for future academic success.

The culmination program featured recognition activities and presentations showcasing the progress and learning gains of participating pupils throughout the summer intervention program.

School Principal, Mrs. Erna C. Gasatan, commended the collective efforts of teachers, parents, and community stakeholders in ensuring the success of the ARAL Summer Program and reaffirmed the school's commitment to ensuring that no learner is left behind.
