Part II of the Recollection 2026 was filled with joy, creativity, and camaraderie. Student Teachers showcased their talents through fashion shows and lively games, receiving sashes and awards that celebrated their participation and achievements. The highlight of this segment was the giving of different colored hearts, known as โrainbow connections.โ Each Student Teacher chose a heart and gave it to someone special, symbolizing love, gratitude, happiness, and reflection. This activity brought everyone closer together, creating bonds that went beyond the event itself and reminding all that growth is not only about learning but also about sharing connections with others.
The Fourth Year College of Teacher Education and the Student Teacher Association extend heartfelt thanks to all faculty members who made this recollection possible. Special appreciation goes to Dr. Nelia S. Lomocso, CESO V, the Dean of the College of Teacher Education, for guiding the program with wisdom and inspiration, and for her steadfast support that strengthened the success of this event. Her genuine care and encouragement uplifted the Student Teachers throughout the journey. Gratitude also goes to Dr. Ma. Lelaine A. Goyonan, Program Head of the College of Teacher Education, for her constant support in everything done for the goodness of the department. A special mention is given to Sir Nicolas Gene E. Flores, who served as the energetic and lively emcee during the games, bringing excitement and joy to the Student Teachers. To the rest of the faculty of the College of Teacher Education, we thank you all for your dedication and encouragement. Lastly, to all people who helped and became part of this recollection, we sincerely thank you for your efforts and contributions that made this event a memorable journey of growth and unity.

On April 16, 2026, the College of Teacher Education held its Recollection at the SIIT Library with the theme โJourney of Growth: Remembering the Path from Curiosity and Learning to Confidence and Leadership.โ Part I of the program began with a prayer led by Myla Rose Ilagan, followed by the welcome address of Dr. Nelia S. Lomocso, CESO V, the Dean of the College of Teacher Education. She emphasized that the recollection is not only about academic reflection but also about reflecting on the Word of God and the beauty of life, reminding the Student Teachers that life is truly beautiful. Luciano B. Espadero Jr. then introduced the recollection master, preparing the Student Teachers for the central message of the event.
Rev. Fr. Sherman L. Garciano, fondly called โMan man,โ delivered a powerful talk that touched on values and growth. He reminded the Student Teachers that cheating is a root of corruption, a lesson that must be taken seriously in both academic and personal life. He also discussed Maslowโs theory of hierarchy of needs, guiding them to understand how growth begins with basic needs and progresses toward confidence and leadership. Fr. Garciano emphasized that teachers should not be like candles that burn out and die, but instead be lamps that continue to give light even when the oil runs out, because lamps can always be refilled. His message was reinforced by the symbolic images of candles and lamps, reminding educators of their enduring role in guiding students.
Part I concluded with closing remarks from Dr. Ma. Lelaine A. Goyonan, Program Head of the College of Teacher Education. She highlighted that learning never stops and encouraged the Student Teachers to continue rising even after graduation. She reminded them not to forget their mentors and to carry forward the lessons of faith and growth. Her words tied together the recollectionโs theme of leadership and lifelong learning, leaving the Student Teachers with renewed purpose and a deeper appreciation for the beauty of life.

In Photos || A new year marks a new beginning for our student teachers as they officially begin their practicum journey this semester. With hearts full of hope and minds ready to learn, they step into real classrooms, eager to apply what theyโve studied and to grow through hands-on experience. Wearing their uniforms with pride, they stand together as one and united by their shared goal of becoming educators who inspire and uplift.
These photos capture more than a moment; they reflect their commitment, courage, and readiness to face the challenges of teaching. Each day ahead is a chance to learn, connect, and make a difference in the lives of young learners. As they immerse themselves in various partner schools, may they carry the values of service, patience, and passion.
