This year went by too fast.

So fast that this December still feels like the one from last yearโ€”unfinished, overlapping, like time forgot to reset.

A lot has happened in between. Things changed, quietly and loudly, for better and for worse. Christmas still feels different as it has for some years now; the kind of different you feel in your soul only when you start to see whatโ€™s been missing all this time.

There arenโ€™t many kids going house to house singing carols anymore. The streets donโ€™t echo the same way. Even our class Christmas party felt like any other dayโ€”another schedule, another celebration squeezed in between deadlines.

Yet, thereโ€™s still something that refuses to disappear. Maybe itโ€™s hope.

Not loud or flashy, just quiet, lingering even when everything feels mundane. Itโ€™s there, waitingโ€”just in case this Christmas decides to be a little special again.

It remains in the background, especially now with so many of us going through big changes like going to college next year. I canโ€™t help but hope this Christmas feels a little like it did when we were kidsโ€”magical, familiar, and special before everything shifts again. Before routines change, before familiar faces become memories when the next one comes.

Today, we honor one of the most valued celebrations in the Catholic faithโ€”the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. This reminds us the belief that the blessed Virgin Mary, was preserved from original sin from the moment of her existence, chosen to be the pure vessel who would bring Jesus Christ into the world.

Maryโ€™s faith, humility, and obedience, invited invited us to follow her example of saying โ€œyesโ€ to God even in moments of uncertainty. Her life reminds us that the true holiness begins with a heart that is willing to listen and trust.

To promote camaraderie and athletic excellence among student-athletes, the Siargao Division Athletic Meet (SDAM) 2026 officially opened on November 11, 2025.

Delegates from eight districts displayed their skills through the saludo presentation, carrying their district banners with pride.

In addition, the program recognized athletes who demonstrated inclusivity and determination during the 3rd Paralympics Competition.

During the opening remarks, Assistants Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Roel T. Diamante emphasized the dedication and perseverance of young athletes.

โ€œThis isnโ€™t just the opening of the Siargao Athletic Meet, but this is actually a testament to the thousands of unseen hours, minutes and countless sacrifices in the pursuit of your shared dreams,โ€ he stressed.

Following his message, the Lighting of the Urn was carried out by Palarong Pambansa qualifiers Zeithrick M. Norcos, Alexces M. Jusay, and Clyde Aubrey C. Tasong.

Afterwards, Schools Division Superintendent Manuel O. Caberte and Assistant Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Roel T. Diamante led the raising of banners.

In the later part of the program, the Oath of Sportsmanship and Oath for Officiating Officials were presided over by Alexces M. Jusay, a Palarong Pambansa representative in Wushu.

Finally, the ceremony concluded by featuring the delegation muses, highlighted by the appearance of former Ms. SDAM 2025, Rosalia Rudnizki.
