๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ’ง Exploring Open Systems: Fire, Air, and Water

In this experiment, a candle is placed in the center of a bowl filled with water. As the flame burns, it consumes oxygen from the surrounding air. When the oxygen level decreases, the pressure inside the system changes. This shift causes the water to rise and eventually overflow the bowl.

This simple setup demonstrates the concept of an open systemโ€”a system where matter and energy can freely enter or leave. The candle releases heat and light, oxygen flows in and is consumed, and water moves in response to the pressure difference. Each component interacts, showing how open systems are dynamic and constantly exchanging with their environment.

Through this activity, we see that science is not just about complex machines or advanced technology. Even with everyday materials, we can uncover important principles about energy transfer, gas behavior, and system interactions. ๐ŸŒโœจ
