Erika Kyla Laurente, District 8 representative and a grade 10 student of Sabang NHS, shines at the Division Filipino Values Festival grabbing a gold medal in Oratorical Competition Junior High School Category held last December 12, 2025 at Severo Duterte Memorial Elementary School.

SABANG NHS TRIUMPHS IN DIVISION SCHOOL PRESS CONFERENCE 2025

Sabang National High School journalists made their mark in the recently concluded Division School Press Conference (DSPC), bagging top awards and bringing pride to Sabang NHS.

Held on December 13, 2025 at Ramon M. Durano Sr. Foundation- Science and Technology Education Center, the DSPC gathered the best student writers, editors, and broadcasters from various schools in the Division of Danao City. The conference aimed to provide a platform for students to showcase their writing, reporting, and broadcasting skills.

Sabang NHS Calls for an Urgent General PTA Meeting

After the devastation brought by Typhoon Tino in Danao City, Sabang National High School is determined to move forward. Mr. Algen C. Laurente, the school head, called for an urgent meeting, today November 20, 2025 with the students' parents to talk for a transition plan for the resumption of face-to-face classes.

Mr. Laurente emphasized safety, the need for collaboration, and the importance of hearing every parent’s concerns after the typhoon’s impact. One by one, parents voiced their thoughts—some worried about damaged houses, others concerned about transportation and lingering floodwater, while many expressed gratitude that learning would continue despite the hardship.

By the end of the meeting, the school head assured everyone that their voices would guide the final decision. Together, the school and community committed to rebuilding, proving once again that Sabang National High School’s strength came not just from its structures, but from its people’s unity and resilience.

Sabang NHS' School-Based Press Conference (SBPC) 2025

In preparation for the upcoming Division Schools Press Conference (DSPC), Sabang National High School will be conducting its School-Based Press Conference (SBPC) on
October 13-15, 2025.

This activity aims to identify and prepare campus journalists who will represent the school in various categories of journalistic writing including:

• News Writing
• Feature Writing
• Editorial Writing
• Column Writing
• Sports Writing
• Science and Technology Writing
• Copyreading and Headline Writing
• Photojournalism
• Editorial Cartooning

All interested students from Grades 7 to 10 are encouraged to participate. Participants must have to register with their respective English or Filipino facilitator on the day of the event.(please see attached matrix for the schedule and venue)
