"The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step." ~ Lao Tzu.

LOOK | SHS Career Guidance Program 2023

For the Grade 12 students of ILSHS-SHS, that first step towards their future careers began with the Career Guidance Program 2023. Organized by the SciMath Club Officers, the program was held on April 14, 2023, at the MSU-Maguindanao Grandstand. It aimed to provide students with insights and guidance for their future career paths.

The event started with an inspirational opening messages by the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Dr. Marissa N. Parcon and the guest speaker, Dr. Lo**ta P. Salazar who shared her own career journeys and provided valuable insights on the skills and knowledge required for different career paths.

It was followed by the career guidance proper headed by the different faculty representatives from various colleges of MSU-Maguindanao: Ms. Jojie M. Campugan from the College of Arts and Sciences, Prof. Maricor G. Bayog from the College of Public Affairs and Governance, Mr. Jane Claude Daylusan from the College of Education, Ms. Rhea Mae Talaron form the College of Fisheries, Ms. Christine Rendon from the College of Forestry and Environmental Studies and Dr. Ali-Akbar M. Kusin from the College of Agriculture. This gave the Grade 12 students the opportunity to ask questions and interact with the speakers to gain a better understanding of the different career options available for them.

One of the highlights of the event was a "dress-up" activity wherein the students dressed up according to what they would like to become in the future. This activity was a fun way for them to express their interests and aspirations.

Overall, the Career Guidance Program was a huge success, as it achieved its aim to help and encourage the Grade 12 Senior High School students to think about their future careers and identify their interests to pursue. This program was the steppingstone guide for the students who are aspiring to be the next set of successful professionals in the future.

In closing, Gabriel R. Abo, the President of the SciMath Club, expressed his gratitude to the University Chancellor Dr. Bai Hejira Nefertiti M. Limbona, SHS Director Prof. Sadat G. Blah, the SBC officers, Ms. Pinky A. Gumogda and to all who participated for their utmost support in making the program possible. With this event, the students of MSU-Maguindanao have taken their first step towards a brighter future.

We are pleased to announce that on April 18, 2023, Tuesday, we hosted a Free Iftar Activity in Makir, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao del Norte.

As Muslims, we were reminded of the importance of giving and sharing during the month of Ramadhan. In line with this, the Student Body Council, Sci-Math Club, Community Engagement Students, and HUMSS 12-A came together to provide iftar meals to those in need.

This event was a manifestation of our faith and dedication to serving the community, regardless of social status. It was an opportunity for us to come together as one community and share our blessings with those who may not have the means to do so themselves. We believed that this event not only provided nourishment to the body but also nourished the soul with the spirit of unity, compassion, and generosity.

We were grateful for the participation and support of everyone who volunteered their time and resources. It was truly heartwarming to see everyone come together to serve those in need.

Together, we embodied the spirit of giving and selflessness that is at the core of our faith. May this Free Iftar Activity continue to be a source of blessings and a means for us to earn the pleasure of Allah.
