The Dalaguete Grassroots Chess Tournament once again showcased the municipality's growing pool of talented young chess players, with every participant demonstrating discipline, preparation, and competitive spirit. In the Elementary Division, Blake Entia emerged as the champion after delivering an outstanding performance marked by consistency, tactical precision, and composure under pressure. Finishing in second place was Ryle E. Cartesiano, whose resilient play and strong decision-making kept the title race highly competitive. Marc Jovan Beldad secured third place through determination and strategic ex*****on, proving that he is one of the promising young players to watch in future competitions.
The Secondary Division featured equally impressive performances, with Noli Joshua Alcantara claiming the championship through excellent board control, sound preparation, and confident play throughout the tournament. Laurence Belamala earned the runner-up position after displaying remarkable consistency and fighting spirit in every round, while Jaer Jeptha Revalde completed the podium with a commendable performance that reflected his growing maturity and competitive mindset. The 5th Casay Fiesta Rapid Chess Tournament – Dalaguete Area & Student Athletes (1800 Below) concluded on a high note after seven exciting rounds of intense competition, showcasing the remarkable talent, determination, and sportsmanship of chess enthusiasts from across the municipality. Every participant displayed resilience and strategic brilliance, making this year's tournament one of the most competitive and memorable editions yet.
Leading the field was Champion John David Coming, whose consistent and composed performance earned him the coveted title. Carl Joseph Villamora secured the 1st Runner-up position with an impressive display of tactical skill, while Victor Potrido finished as 2nd Runner-up after a strong and determined campaign. Completing the Top 10 were Ilexis Wayrint B. Miano (4th Place), Jessie Carumba (5th Place), Emmanuel Osayan (6th Place), Fritz Selerio Carumbana (7th Place), Jerald Nino Cabal (8th Place), Victor Clapano (9th Place), and Noli Joshua Alcantara (10th Place). Their outstanding performances reflected countless hours of preparation, discipline, and an unwavering passion for the game, earning the admiration of players and spectators alike.

The success of the tournament would not have been possible without the invaluable support of Barangay Casay SK, led by Hon. Danilo Sombilon, whose commitment to grassroots sports continues to provide young athletes with opportunities to develop their talents and compete at a higher level.

Equally deserving of recognition is Dr. Roberto Moran, Principal I of Casay National High School, for generously providing the venue and extending full support to ensure the smooth and successful conduct of the event.
