The 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗟𝘂𝘇𝗼𝗻 𝗻𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 participated in an insightful Expert Lecture on 𝗗𝗶𝗮𝗯𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗙𝗼𝗼𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 as the final learning leg of the 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗮 𝗜𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺, broadening their understanding of evidence-based nursing care and the management of one of the most common complications associated with diabetes.

The session provided an in-depth discussion on the pathophysiology of diabetic foot complications and emphasized the importance of comprehensive assessment, early intervention, preventive care, and patient education in reducing the risks of infection, ulceration, and amputation.

Through the expertise shared by healthcare professionals and specialists, University of Luzon nursing participants gained valuable insights into current best practices in wound management, risk assessment, and multidisciplinary approaches to care that contribute to improved patient outcomes and quality of life.

As part of the 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗮 𝗜𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺, 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗟𝘂𝘇𝗼𝗻 𝗻𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 participated in an intensive 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗘𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗲 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 that strengthened their readiness to respond effectively during emergencies, disasters, and public health crises.

Through hands-on simulations and realistic training scenarios, students gained valuable experience in search and rescue operations, water rescue techniques, victim retrieval and transportation, patient stabilization, triage, emergency first aid, and coordinated disaster response.
The training emphasized the importance of rapid assessment, effective communication, teamwork, leadership, critical thinking, and sound decision-making in ensuring the safety and well-being of affected communities.

This intensive simulation experience supports SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being by promoting emergency preparedness and quality healthcare response, SDG 4: Quality Education through experiential and competency-based learning opportunities, SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities by developing future healthcare professionals equipped to contribute to disaster risk reduction and community resilience, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals through international collaboration and academic exchange that foster knowledge sharing, capacity building, and global cooperation in healthcare and disaster management education.

𝐂𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐇𝐨𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥-𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐚

Learning goes beyond the classroom as 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗟𝘂𝘇𝗼𝗻 𝗻𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 immerse themselves in a hospital-based clinical learning exposure through the 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗮 𝗜𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺.

As part of their hospital-based learning experience, students were given the opportunity to observe and engage in various clinical activities alongside healthcare professionals. Students observed patient assessments, monitoring procedures, and nursing interventions in the cardiac ward, providing them with valuable insights into the care and management of patients with cardiovascular conditions. They also participated in wound care management activities, enhancing their understanding of infection prevention, comprehensive wound assessment, and evidence-based nursing interventions that contribute to positive patient outcomes.

This learning experience reflects the University of Luzon’s commitment to advancing SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being by preparing future healthcare professionals capable of delivering quality and compassionate care, SDG 4: Quality Education through experiential and globally relevant learning opportunities, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals by fostering international collaboration and academic exchange that enrich nursing education and healthcare practice across borders.

𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐚 🇮🇩

The University of Luzon continues to strengthen its commitment to global learning and community engagement through the 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗮 𝗜𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺, providing nursing students and faculty members with meaningful opportunities to experience community-based healthcare and health promotion beyond borders.

Participants visited a local Puskesmas, the cornerstone of Indonesia’s primary healthcare system, where they observed how Indonesian healthcare professionals provide preventive, promotive, curative, and rehabilitative healthcare services at the community level. As part of the academic exchange, 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗟𝘂𝘇𝗼𝗻 - 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗡𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘆 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀 conducted an expert lecture on diabetes awareness and prevention, while 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗟𝘂𝘇𝗼𝗻 𝗻𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 facilitated a bullying awareness program in a local high school.

This meaningful experience advanced SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being through community-based health education promoting disease prevention and bullying awareness, SDG 4: Quality Education through international learning and knowledge sharing, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals through global collaboration and cross-cultural engagement.

To provide more opportunities for incoming and returning students to complete their enrollment requirements, the University of Luzon is pleased to announce an extension of the enrollment period.

In line with this, classes for the College Level for the 1st Semester of A.Y. 2026–2027 will officially start on 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐞 𝟐𝟐, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 instead of June 15, allowing students and families extra time for registration and preparation for the new school year.

We encourage all prospective Luzonians to take advantage of this extended enrollment period and secure their slots for Academic Year 2026–2027.

Proclamation No. 1006 by the President of the Philippines, 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 12, 2026 (𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆) has been declared a 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝗛𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆 in observance of the 128𝘁𝗵 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗗𝗮𝘆.

In line with this declaration, all University administrative offices will be closed on June 12, Friday.

As we commemorate the courage, sacrifice, and patriotism of the Filipino people in securing our nation's freedom, we are also given the opportunity to enjoy a well-deserved three-day weekend with family and loved ones.

May this celebration inspire us to continue upholding the values of unity, resilience, and national pride that define us as Filipinos.
