LOCALIZED CANCELLATION OF CLASSES

According to Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), as of 5 pm, July 27, 2017, TROPICAL STORM “GORIO” has intensified into a severe tropical storm enhancing occasionally heavy rains over the western section of Luzon.

However, based on the latest monitoring of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office as of 9 pm (July 27), most parts of Pangasinan are not affected by the storm and only some areas especially in western Pangasinan have experienced heavy to moderate rains.

May I, therefore, call on the municipal and city mayors who are the chairmen in their respective DRRMCs to use their discretion for localized cancellation of classes for tomorrow, July 28.

Furthermore, may I also advise all DRRMOs to stay alert. Likewise to those along the 14 coastal areas to prevent their fisherfolks from venturing out to the sea.
