Mother Goose Special Science High School conducted its Parents’ Orientation on Friday afternoon, July 3, at the 3rd Floor Main Building for the parents of Grade 7 students and transferees from Grades 8 to 12.

The orientation opened with a prayer led by Dr. Marjorie S. Fernandez, Guidance Advocate. Atty. Lemuel A. Astadan, School Principal, welcomed the participants and introduced the members of the faculty and staff.

During the orientation, Mrs. Socorro O. Ringor, Assistant School Principal and Chair of the Evaluation Committee, discussed the school’s grading system. Mrs. Minie DG. Aliwalas, Prefect of Discipline, explained the school rules and regulations, while Mr. Jasper John M. De Guzman, Dean of Student Affairs, presented the student programs and extracurricular activities. Dr. Marjorie S. Fernandez also discussed the guidance programs and services available to students.

The activity concluded with a question-and-answer session led by Atty. Astadan, where parents were given the opportunity to raise concerns and seek clarification on school policies and procedures.

The orientation ended with the formal welcome of all the attendees as members of the Mother Goose Special Science High School community.

Today, we celebrate the 165th Birth Anniversary of Dr. Jose P. Rizal.

For generations, students have encountered Rizal through his writings, his ideas, and his contributions to our nation’s history. His life reminds us that learning carries responsibility and that meaningful change often begins with awareness, understanding, and action.

May his example continue to inspire young Filipinos to pursue knowledge and use it for the common good.

OPENING OF CLASSES AND SCHOOL ORIENTATION 2026

The first gathering of the school year brought together students, parents, teachers, and school personnel under one roof, not merely to begin classes, but to establish a shared understanding of what lies ahead.

The day opened with a Holy Mass officiated by Rev. Fr. Laurence Mark J. Lucero, reminding everyone that beyond lessons and requirements, education is also anchored on values, character, and purpose.

Following the Mass, the opening program formally commenced with the Welcome Address and Introduction of Faculty Members delivered by Atty. Lemuel A. Astadan, School Principal. More than introducing names and positions, it was an opportunity for students to become acquainted with the individuals who will accompany them through another year of learning, growth, and achievement.

Key discussions then followed to help students begin the school year informed and prepared.

Mrs. Minie Aliwalas, Prefect of Discipline, discussed the Code of Conduct, Discipline, and School Regulations, providing students with a clear understanding of the standards and expectations that help maintain order, respect, and responsibility within the school community.

Mrs. Socorro O. Ringor, Assistant School Principal and Chair of the Evaluation Committee, presented the Grading System, giving students a comprehensive overview of how their academic performance will be measured and evaluated throughout the year.

Dr. Marjorie Fernandez, Guidance Counselor, introduced the school’s Guidance Services and Programs, emphasizing the importance of student welfare and the support available to learners as they navigate academic, social, and personal concerns.

Adding a vibrant touch to the program, an intermission number was rendered by Armilyn Aliwalas, a Grade 11 Senior High School student. Her performance provided a refreshing pause between discussions contributing to the positive and welcoming atmosphere of the orientation.

The energy inside the gym noticeably shifted during the afternoon session as students eagerly awaited one of the most anticipated announcements of the day: the release of class sections for all Junior High School and Senior High School students. Excitement, curiosity, and countless conversations filled the venue as students awaited for their names to be mentioned, discovered their new classmates, and began imagining the experiences that await them in the months ahead.

The program was hosted by Mr. Jasper John de Guzman, Dean of Student Affairs, who guided the proceedings and facilitated the flow of activities throughout the event.

The orientation concluded with individual class meetings facilitated by advisers, allowing students to become familiar with classroom expectations, academic requirements, and the people they will be spending much of their school year with.

The first day was marked by more than schedules, policies, and announcements. It was a day of familiar greetings in hallways, introductions between future friends, nervous smiles from new students, and renewed enthusiasm from those returning for another year. The conversations that started today, the goals quietly set, and the opportunities waiting in each classroom are now part of a new chapter ready to unfold.

The gymnasium may have emptied by the end of the day, but the excitement certainly remained. Students left carrying section assignments, new expectations, fresh motivation, and stories from a first day that was anything but ordinary. With everyone now settled into their respective classes, School Year 2026–2027 begins with anticipation, optimism, and the shared commitment to make every day count.
