Universidad de Dagupan School of Engineering Secures 3rd Place in P.I.T.C.H. PH 2026

MANILA, Philippines — September 19, 2026 — The Universidad de Dagupan (UdD) – School of Engineering proudly celebrates the outstanding achievement of Team Brailliant, which secured 3rd Place in the P.I.T.C.H. PH 2026 (Philippine Association of Engineering Schools Innovation & Technopreneurship Challenge Hub Philippines) held at De La Salle University, Manila on September 19, 2026.

The national innovation and technopreneurship competition brought together engineering students from various institutions across the country, providing a platform for participants to present innovative ideas, demonstrate technical expertise, and showcase their entrepreneurial and problem-solving capabilities.
Representing Universidad de Dagupan, Team Brailliant demonstrated strong performance through their technical competence, creativity, strategic thinking, confidence, and innovative approach. Their achievement reflects the growing culture of innovation and excellence being fostered within the University’s engineering community.

The team is composed of Jhun Gil S. Meneses, Melruss L. Magat, Ronald P. Gabica, and Lhara Mae V. Lotayo. Their participation and success were made possible through the guidance and mentorship of their coaches: Engr. Sean Gabriel A. Macapagal, Engr. Roderick J. Cabaña, Engr. Jonathan G. Lim, Sir John Vincent Misa, and Sir Fernie Bucang.

The achievement also highlights the importance of the continued support of the Universidad de Dagupan administration,
Dean Dr. Jose Jay De Vera, and the School of Engineering faculty, whose commitment to student development provides opportunities for learners to participate in national competitions and translate their engineering knowledge into innovative and relevant solutions.

The success of Team Brailliant further strengthens Universidad de Dagupan’s commitment to advancing innovation, engineering excellence, and technopreneurship while providing students with meaningful platforms to demonstrate their capabilities beyond the classroom.

With five qualifiers coming from the Universidad de Dagupan School of Engineering, this achievement represents a proud milestone for our SOE community and a testament to the dedication, perseverance, and academic excellence of our students.

All available e-jeepneys will be deployed to accommodate students traveling to the University.

In consideration of the current situation brought about by the effects of the Southwest Monsoon (HABAGAT), which has caused difficulties for some students traveling to and from the university, there will be no face-to-face classes from September 9–12, 2026.

However, the Preliminary Examination will be conducted from September 9–12, 2026, through an ONLINE EXAMINATION.

Students are advised to coordinate with their respective instructors regarding the specific examination instructions and procedures.

Please prioritize your safety and be guided accordingly.
