Painawa: a pause to breathe, reflect, and reconnect.

Sometimes, we all need a little pause.

The Painawa Session is a safe and welcoming space where psychmates can take a break, reflect, and simply be present. Through meaningful conversations, we hope to create a space where you can express what you feel, connect with others, and remind yourself that you do not always have to carry everything alone.

You don’t have to have the right words. You don’t have to have everything figured out. Sometimes, taking a moment to pause, breathe, and be heard is already enough.

Come as you are. Take a moment for yourself. Let’s make space for stories, feelings, and small moments of connection.

Stay tuned, psychmates!

Sometimes, we may not notice when someone is struggling. It can look like a friend becoming distant, a classmate who seems unusually quiet, or even ourselves saying, “Okay lang ako,” when things don’t really feel okay.

Changing the narrative on su***de means creating a culture where it is okay to talk, to ask for help, and to listen without judgment. It means looking beyond what we see and making space for what people may be carrying silently.

Be the difference. Start a conversation.

Ask how they are. Listen. Check in. Reach out. And when you need it, allow others to be there for you, too.

Because prevention is not just about saving lives—it is about building a community where people feel seen, heard, valued, and supported.

Changing the narrative on su***de starts with how we choose to listen, speak, and reach out. Let’s move beyond silence and stigma and create spaces where people feel safe to share what they are going through.

Be the difference. Start a conversation.

A simple “Kumusta ka?” can open a door to understanding, connection, and hope. This month, let’s remind one another that every conversation matters, and no one should have to face their struggles alone.

“Grief is a reflection of love.”
- David Kessler, renowned author on grief

On this day, let us reflect on the enduring love we have in our hearts and minds for our dear loved ones. Because grief is a universal language, it doesn't apply only to the people we love. We also deeply grieve our non-human companions—the beloved pets who leave behind marks on our memory. We also grieve the loss of the places or communities we used to belong to because losing a place that once felt like home can lead to a feeling of mourning for the places, the connections, and the versions of ourselves that we left behind.

Whatever way you take in dealing with your loss, please remember that they are all valid. There is no correct or wrong timetable when it comes to missing what you love—whether that be a person, an animal, a place, or a community.

You reflected, now let’s connect. 🧸✨

The past few weeks may have felt a little different with class suspensions, staying at home, the rainy weather, and everything else happening around us. Through it all, having someone to laugh with, yap with, check up on us, or simply keep us company can make things feel a little lighter. Sometimes, checking in on our mental health doesn’t have to be a solo mission. A simple message or appreciation can remind someone that they’re not alone. After all, you’ve got a friend in me! ♾️

So, think of someone who made your past few weeks a little brighter. Maybe they made you laugh, kept you company, helped you with something, checked up on you, or simply made the break less boring. Tag them below and tell them why you appreciate them! Because just like our favorite Toy Story friends, nobody gets left behind. 🧸✨ TAG, YOU’RE IT! 👀💛

You paused, now let's reflect.

Look back, ponder, and let your thoughts manifest.

Over the past three weeks, most of us have been stuck at home, feeling anxious about the rain, thinking about our plans once face-to-face classes resume, and processing the recent concerns surrounding school violence. With so much happening around us, our minds may have been preoccupied with these thoughts that we may have overlooked the small moments and experiences along the way.

Now, let’s take a moment to look back and ponder these experiences. 💭

Describe your past three weeks’ experience in 1–3 words. There are no right or wrong answers. Every experience is unique, and we are the authors of our own experiences.

Take a moment to look back, describe, and acknowledge the experiences, emotions, and small moments that shaped the past few weeks. You may share them here: https://app.sli.do/event/6W1dtZxJm52GQAAemU95QU/live/polls
