SUC President III Atty. Ryan L. Estevez, DPA is representing the University of Camarines Norte (UCN) at today's Plenary Budget Deliberations on the Proposed FY 2027 Budget of State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) at the House of Representatives.

As part of UCN’s continuing efforts to strengthen access to quality public higher education, 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗘𝘀𝘁𝗲𝘃𝗲𝘇 𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝘂𝗿𝘀𝘂𝗲 𝗮𝗱𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆’𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝘂𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗙𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.

Joining President Estevez are Budget Officer III Ms. Nida T. Pimentel and Executive Assistant III Francis Estevez, as UCN stands alongside fellow state universities and colleges in supporting adequate resources for quality education, research, innovation, and services that directly benefit students and communities.

The Office of the President of the University of Camarines Norte extends its warmest birthday greetings to Dr. Tirso A. Ronquillo, President of Batangas State University and President of the Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC).

SUC President III Atty. Ryan L. Estevez, DPA joins fellow leaders in the higher education community in wishing Dr. Ronquillo good health, continued success, and many more meaningful years of leadership and service to Philippine higher education.

University of Camarines Norte President Atty. Ryan L. Estevez, DPA welcomed participants to the official launch of CHED Bicol’s HEIs as Zones of Peace initiative, held at the UCN Student Activity Center, with students from the Camarines Norte College of Law among those who joined the activity.

In his welcome message, President Estevez emphasized that higher education institutions must be more than places of learning—they must be spaces where everyone feels safe, respected, heard, and valued.

“𝙒𝙝𝙚𝙣 𝙄 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙠 𝙤𝙛 𝙝𝙤𝙢𝙚, 𝙄 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙠 𝙤𝙛 𝙥𝙚𝙖𝙘𝙚. 𝘼𝙣𝙙 𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙣 𝙄 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙠 𝙤𝙛 𝙥𝙚𝙖𝙘𝙚, 𝙄 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙠 𝙤𝙛 𝙝𝙤𝙢𝙚.”

He underscored that creating Zones of Peace goes beyond preventing violence. It means fostering a culture where dialogue is chosen over division, understanding over hatred, compassion over judgment, and unity over conflict.

Through initiatives such as this, UCN continues to foster a culture of dignity, understanding, and peace within the University and beyond—carrying these values From Classroom to Communities.

PRESIDENT ESTEVEZ ADVANCES UCN’S ENGAGEMENT IN ELEVATED CONVERSATIONS

University of Camarines Norte President Atty. Ryan L. Estevez, DPA, together with Dr. Eduardo Abad, Dean of the Graduate School, participated in the launch of Elevated Conversations on September 12, 2026, at Pampanga State University, alongside fellow SUC Presidents and higher education leaders.

President Estevez also took part in the commitment signing, affirming UCN’s engagement in an initiative that advances critical inquiry, intellectual discourse, and the constructive examination of prevailing assumptions within graduate education.

Aligned with CHED’s A.C.H.I.E.V.E. Agenda 2030, Elevated Conversations underscores the role of universities not merely as institutions of knowledge production, but as spaces where complex ideas are interrogated, diverse perspectives are engaged, and new approaches to contemporary challenges are shaped.

Through this engagement, President Estevez reinforces UCN’s commitment to cultivating a graduate education environment grounded in critical scholarship, meaningful dialogue, and socially responsive leadership, transforming intellectual discourse into ideas and actions that move From Classroom to Communities.

As we conclude the 2nd International Congress on Pineapple – ICoP 2026, 𝐈 𝐞𝐱𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐝 𝐦𝐲 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐟𝐞𝐥𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐦𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐬𝐮𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬.

I also extend my sincere appreciation to the Office of the Provincial Governor, our Local Government Units, partner institutions and agencies, and other stakeholders for your invaluable support and collaboration.

To our researchers, farmers, industry representatives, and participants from the Philippines and abroad, thank you for sharing your knowledge, expertise, and experiences toward advancing a stronger and more sustainable pineapple industry.

ICoP 2026 may have officially come to a close, but the partnerships we strengthened, the knowledge we shared, and the opportunities we created will continue to grow and bear fruit beyond this congress.
