MCHL-Daet Celebrates Nutrition Month 2026 with Wellness and Sustainability Activities
Laughter echoed through the halls as colorful displays of fruits, vegetables, and other healthy meals transformed the campus into a celebration of health and sustainability. On July 31, 2026, the compound of Montessori Children's House of Learning, Inc. - Daet Campus came to life to celebrate Nutrition Month 2026 with the theme, "Nutrisyon at Kalikasan, Ating Pangalagaan," reminding everyone that a healthy body begins with healthy food, while a healthy future depends on a healthy environment.
The celebration officially commenced at 8:30 in the morning with an opening program held on the Ground Floor of the 1st Building, warmly hosted by Masters of Ceremony Cassandra Mae Eder, President of The Trufflers, and Criss Matthew Zenarosa, Vice President of The Trufflers. The Opening Program started with the opening prayer, followed by the singing of the National Anthem and the MCHL Hymn, welcome remarks, an inspirational message, and words of encouragement that instilled within the students the values of proper nutrition, environmental stewardship, and community involvement throughout the day's activities.
One of the highlights of the morning was the Wellness Dance Mass Demonstration, inspired by the catchy slogan, "Health Goal Mo ay Wellness." Music echoed throughout the school as each section, from Preschool, Primary, Intermediate, and Junior High School, danced and showcased their moves. In the process of performing in the Wellness Dance of the school, the learners were able to showcase and put on their creative handmade headresses which were inspired by various themes such as nutrition, agriculture, environmental conservation, and healthy living using recycled and locally available materials. As the music blared, synchronization of the moves and bright smiles showed weeks of preparation, determination, and teamwork of each grade level.
Beyond the lively dances, there was more that this event symbolized. Learners were encouraged to eat healthy, practice healthy habits, move with confidence and appreciate the value of collaboration. Parents, teachers and fellow learners applauded with appreciation and enthusiasm as well. Weeks of preparation bore fruits as every performance showcased talents of each grade, as well as the teamwork of each section and the importance of healthy living.
Following the morning program, the participants proceeded to one of the most anticipated events of the celebration: Lamesang Pinoy: Hapag-Kainan ng Kalusugan. Inspired by the idea that nature is the primary source of the food found on every Filipino table, the activity emphasized the importance of protecting the environment to ensure a continuous supply of nutritious food for future generations. Students from the Primary, Intermediate, and Junior High School departments proudly presented creative displays featuring Go, Grow, and Glow Foods, using fresh, locally sourced ingredients to promote nutrition and sustainable food.
As each group confidently explained the nutritional value of their meal displays, the activity became more than a presentation. It became a showcase of knowledge, creativity, and appreciation for Filipino culture. Through carefully prepared dishes and informative presentations, learners demonstrated their understanding of proper nutrition and the importance of making healthy food choices. The event also brought to light how preserving nature plays a vital role in sustaining the resources that provide nourishment for every Filipino family.
The celebration culminated in the Awarding Ceremony, where deserving participants were honored for their outstanding performances in the day's activities and competitions. As certificates and prizes were presented, the Function Hall filled with applause and proud smiles from students, teachers, parents, and guests who gathered to celebrate each achievement. More than recognizing excellence, the ceremony paid tribute to the creativity, teamwork, and dedication displayed throughout the event. As the final students took their photos, complimented with the floral background, the closing ceremony served as a fitting conclusion to the Nutrition Month Celebration, inspiring the students and those who attended the celebration to continue practicing healthy habits and environmental care long after the festivities had ended. More than a celebration, the event became a reminder that caring for one's health goes hand in hand with protecting our environment.
