The Peer Facilitators Group of UCN Abaรฑo Campus successfully conducted the 2026 Capacity-Building Training Program for Peer Facilitators on September 17โ18, 2026, held at the Guidance, Testing, and Admission Office, UCN Abaรฑo Campus.
The two-day training program served as an opportunity for peer facilitators to strengthen their knowledge, develop essential peer-support skills, and build stronger connections with fellow facilitators. It focused on equipping participants with practical skills and appropriate attitudes needed in responding to the different concerns and experiences that students may encounter within the campus community.
Throughout the training, participants engaged in various discussions, interactive activities, group exercises, and team-building sessions designed to encourage active listening, empathy, communication, collaboration, confidentiality, and responsible peer support. The activities also provided a space for participants to reflect on their roles and responsibilities as peer facilitators and understand the importance of creating an environment where students feel heard, respected, and supported.
More than developing skills, the training also strengthened the sense of connection and teamwork among the peer facilitators. Through shared experiences, meaningful conversations, and collaborative activities, participants were reminded that peer facilitation is not simply about providing support, but also about being present, listening without judgment, and knowing when to guide a fellow student toward appropriate professional support.
The 2026 Capacity-Building Training Program served as a meaningful step in preparing the Peer Facilitators Group to become more confident, compassionate, and responsible student partners in promoting a safe, inclusive, and supportive campus community.
