Our aim is to teach responsiveness, empathy, and compassion to children. They are taught to be of service to the people and may they grow up bringing with them these values.

IT TAKES A COMMUNITY TO BUILD A CHILD

NAVS Brigada Pagbasa launched its first Reading Community Outreach Program with the A+ Reading Camp Season V in San Vicente, Culasi, Antique, on May 27.

In celebration of its fifth year, 40 school-children were able to witness and participate in various literary activities prepared by teacher-volunteers, ranging from Komposo and Istorya Sugidanon to Binalaybay. In addition, they participated in a painting session and received back-to-school kits.

This year’s A+ Reading Camp Season V theme is “Celebrating Kinaray-a Literature.” The reading outreach program focuses on promoting and appreciating Kinaray-a literary pieces through reading and painting sessions. One of the core focuses of this season is community service through a feeding program and the distribution of school kits to an indigenous group in Culasi.
