The 1st OMI Schools Summit formally concluded with a spirit of gratitude, unity, and renewed commitment to the shared mission of OMI Education.

Anchored on the theme, “ : Celebrating the OMI Bicentennial Jubilee, Sharing in the OMI Mission,” the summit served as a significant culmination of the OMI Bicentennial celebration, commemorating two centuries of missionary service, Catholic education, and faith formation.

𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗿𝗲 𝗗𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆, as the host institution, extends its sincere appreciation to the 𝘽𝙤𝙖𝙧𝙙 𝙤𝙛 𝙏𝙧𝙪𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙚𝙨, 𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙣𝙚𝙧 𝙞𝙣𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙩𝙪𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨, 𝙙𝙚𝙡𝙚𝙜𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙨, 𝙛𝙖𝙘𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙨, 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙞𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙚𝙨, 𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙛𝙛, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙞𝙣𝙙𝙞𝙫𝙞𝙙𝙪𝙖𝙡𝙨 whose invaluable support and participation contributed to the success of this meaningful gathering.

The exchange of institutional experiences, collaborative discussions, and shared insights throughout the summit reflected the enduring commitment of OMI schools to excellence, leadership, and mission-centered education.

As the participating institutions received their certificates of recognition, the closing program marked not only the conclusion of the summit but also the strengthening of partnerships and the continuing journey of the OMI Education Ministry in forming communities rooted in faith, service, and transformative education.

The day began with a recap of the previous day’s highlights, followed by guided breakout sessions that encouraged delegates to share the strengths, practices, programs, and experiences within their respective institutions. These discussions provided a meaningful platform for collaboration, reflection, and the exchange of ideas that contribute to the continuous growth of the OMI Education Ministry.

The sharing of insights and takeaways became one of the day’s most enriching moments, as participants presented significant reflections and perspectives that emphasized leadership, innovation, unity, and commitment to the OMI mission.

Conversations on the “Ways Forward” further inspired future collaborations, strengthened partnerships, and fostered a collective vision for advancing the mission of OMI education across institutions.

Continued with the sharing of inspiring institutional practices and mission-driven experiences that reflected the commitment of OMI schools to living out the OMI mission within their respective communities.

Delegates also witnessed meaningful cultural presentations that showcased the rich identity, traditions, and spirit of the participating schools strengthening camaraderie and appreciation for the diversity within the OMI family.

The sessions concluded with an engaging open forum where participants exchanged insights, shared reflections, and raised questions on mission, service, leadership, and community engagement.

The dialogue became an avenue for collaboration, learning, and deeper understanding of the shared commitment of OMI schools as bearers of hope and Good News.

The morning sessions of the 1st OMI Schools Summit reflected the true mission and identity of the Oblates — bringing the Good News to the people, especially the poor, and living a life of service, charity, and mission.

Representatives from the different OMI schools engaged in meaningful discussions, collaborative exchanges, and presentations of institutional initiatives and notable experiences that showcased the unique contributions of each OMI school in the areas of leadership, innovation, mission, and service.

The 1st OMI Schools Summit formally opened with a Mass, uniting delegates, administrators, faculty, staff, and guests in prayer and thanksgiving as one OMI family.

The celebration reflected the shared faith, mission, and commitment of the five OMI schools in nurturing transformative Catholic education rooted in service, leadership, and excellence.

| 𝐍𝐃𝐔 𝐡𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐫𝐬 𝐎𝐌𝐈 𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐬, 𝐅𝐫. 𝐅𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐬 𝐄𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐧 𝐂. 𝐙𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐚’𝐬 𝟒𝟎𝐭𝐡 𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐚𝐫𝐲

Notre Dame University (NDU) held a commemorative program marking the culmination of the OMI Bicentennial Jubilee, the Feast Day of St. Eugene de Mazenod, and the 40th anniversary of the first religious profession of vows of Fr. Francis Efren C. Zabala, OMI, DMin., on May 21, 2026 at the Cardinal Quevedo Gymnasium.

The program formally opened with an opening salvo presented by the University Choral, setting a solemn tone for the celebration. This was followed by welcome remarks from Dr. Delma A. Yuarata, who greeted attendees and emphasized the significance of the occasion for the OMI community and Notre Dame University.

“We celebrate their four decades of service at the altar, in leadership, and in the community that helped shape minds, and brought people closer to God,” she said.

An introduction of the celebrant followed, formally recognizing Fr. Zabala and his 40 years of religious service and mission. The program continued with a special presentation and tribute message from the ICT Team, highlighting his contributions and legacy within the institution and the wider Church community.

A series of intermission performances from Detour, the Junior High School Dance Troupe, a vocal solo and duet, and a folk dance added color to the program before Fr. Zabala delivered his message, reflecting on his vocation and expressing gratitude for the community’s support throughout his ministry.

Fr. Zabala said, “We are called to celebrate all this jubilee blessings despite all the challenges that come our way.”

This was followed by congratulatory messages from various stakeholders who acknowledged his enduring dedication and leadership. The program concluded with closing remarks from Dr. Ronald G. Mamaril, who underscored the significance of the celebration for the NDU community. The event ended with a photo opportunity and dinner, marking the close of the commemoration.
