NDU Law Delegate Finishes 3rd Runner-Up in Men's Table Tennis at Magnus Conventus
NDU Law delegate Jaymoon Samelon earned a 3rd Runner-Up finish in the Men's Table Tennis Competition during Magnus Conventus 2026, held from May 29 to 31, 2026 at Ateneo de Davao University.
Competing against delegates from various law schools, Samelon showed resilience and competitive spirit, earning a spot among the top performers.
His achievement adds to the growing list of accomplishments of the NDU Law delegation during the three-day convention.

The NDU College of Law secured a 1st Runner-Up finish in the Mixed Doubles Pickleball Competition during Magnus Conventus 2026, held from May 29 to 31, 2026 at Matchpoint Pickleball Co., Davao City.
Representing NDU Law were Hassan Ahmad Yacob and Zoraya Sumail-Abdulgani, who showcased teamwork and determination throughout the competition, finishing 1st Runner-Up among delegates from 14 participating law schools.

The NDU College of Law delivered a strong performance in the Debate Competition during the Magnus Conventus 2026, held from May 29 to 31, 2026 at Ateneo de Davao University, Davao City.
The NDU Law delegation secured 1st Runner-Up overall, demonstrating excellence in legal argumentation, critical thinking, and persuasive advocacy throughout the tournament.
Individual speakers also earned recognition for their outstanding performances. Aminola Tomawis was named Best Speaker during the Elimination Round, while Nurzahir Guimba and Almirah Amolan were both awarded Best Speaker during the Semi-Final Round.
The achievement reflects the delegationโs strong command of legal reasoning and effective articulation of arguments, contributing to the Collegeโs notable presence in the competition.

The NDU College of Law emerged as Champion in the Case-Based Storytelling Competition during Magnus Conventus 2026, held from May 29 to 31, 2026 at Ateneo de Davao University, Davao City.
The delegation presented People vs. Genosa, performed by Asra Mae Gapor, Sahara Madem, and Jihad Matabalao, with technical support from music operator Ameer Hassan Aminoden.
The team also bagged the Peopleโs Choice Award, Most Creative Storytelling Award, and Best Emotional Storytelling Award.
Their performance stood out for its strong delivery and emotional impact, as well as its creative take on a well-known legal case.

The Notre Dame University College of Law proudly joined fellow law schools at the Magnus Conventus, held from May 29 to 31, 2026, in Davao City, a gathering that celebrated academic excellence, leadership, sportsmanship, and camaraderie among future members of the legal profession.
Throughout the convention, NDU Law students rose to the challenge, showcasing their talents and determination in both academic and non-academic competitions.
The NDU law student delegates earned 1st Runner-Up honors in the Debate Competition and emerged as Champion in the Case Storytelling Competition. In the Quiz Bee and Trivia Night, NDU Law secured a place among the Top 6 contenders, advancing to the semi-final round.
The delegation likewise made its mark in the athletic events, placing 1st Runner-Up in Mixed Doubles Pickleball, 3rd Runner-Up in Menโs Table Tennis, and 3rd Runner-Up in Mixed Volleyball.
Beyond the awards and recognitions, Magnus Conventus was an opportunity to build friendships, exchange ideas, and strengthen bonds with fellow law students from different institutions. It served as a reminder that while excellence is achieved through competition, growth is nurtured through collaboration and shared experiences.

A new chapter of student leadership officially began at the Notre Dame University College of Law as the newly elected officers of the College of Law Student Government formally took their oath of office on May 21, 2026.
Held in the presence of faculty members, students, and guests, the oath-taking ceremony symbolized the transition of leadership and the commitment of the newly elected officers to serve the law student community for the Academic Year 2026โ2027.
The ceremony was witnessed by Dean Hamlet Pahm and administered by former LSA President Nonesa Ampatuan. Leading the new set of officers is Jihad Matabalao, RN, who will head the student government throughout the academic year.
More than a formal rite, the oath-taking reflected the responsibility entrusted to the new student leaders as they prepare to represent the interests, welfare, and aspirations of law students within the College of Law community. The event also underscored the importance of leadership, accountability, and service among future members of the legal profession.
As the newly sworn-in officers begin their term, the Notre Dame University College of Law community expressed its support and congratulations, hopeful that the new student government will continue to strengthen student representation and uphold the values of the institution.
