Witnessing Our Own Journey in Today’s Teacher Applicants

As I observe these Teacher 1 applicants undertaking their Teacher Reflection examination—a crucial component of our hiring process, I am deeply reminded of my own journey to become an educator.

11 Years ago, I too experienced navigating rigorous evaluations and facing the challenges that come with striving to join this noble profession.

Their focused demeanor and earnest effort reflect the same dedication I once held, and it reinforces my commitment to assess each candidate with fairness, empathy, and a clear understanding of how much this opportunity means to their professional aspirations.

Every step they take today mirrors the path that led me to where I stand now, and I am honored to play a part in shaping their potential to inspire future generations.

Though these walls lie charred and broken, the light of learning they held never dims. To the learners – your curiosity, dreams, and potential can never be burned away. To the parents – your love and sacrifice for your children’s future remain a strongest foundation. To the teachers – your passion to guide and nurture lives on in every lesson you’ve shared.

This is not an ending, but a chance to build something even stronger. You've faced darkness before, and for sure , you will rise again – with new classrooms, brighter halls, and hearts more united than ever. The fire may have touched your space, but it will never touch our spirit. Keep going Datu Sundungan HS 💪

A community that stands together in loss and grows stronger in hope.

The Unseen Hand: Support for a Teacher's Dream

As the fluorescent lights of the classroom and once again observed countless hopeful faces of teacher I applicants, one particular scene unfolded before me that truly captured the essence of partnership.

A young woman teacher I aspirant, a bit nervous but ready, was getting her teaching stuff in order for her demonstration.
Right next to her, a man, who I guessed was her partner, was helping her out. He was very good at it, not saying much but doing a lot. He carried her colorful charts and pictures, putting them exactly where she wanted and making sure it was straight. He looked like he was helping with his own presentation, that's how focused he was. You could tell they were working together, even without talking. His help and just being there showed how much he cared.

It was a small, kind moment in a busy place. But it showed me something important: often, behind someone trying to achieve a big goal, there's someone else helping them. And sometimes, that helper is their loving partner who understands what their job is all about and what they want to achieve.

It really teaches us that your partner should know what you do for work for them to understand how it hard and be there to support you in it.They see the effort we put in, the preparation, and the stress. Because of this, they are often the only ones we feel comfortable sharing our daily struggles with. And in return, their comfort means so much, because they've seen firsthand what we're really doing and how hard we try.

Love you partners, for they are your comfort zones, when your work cannot comfort you anymore🥰🥰

FROM ASPIRANT TO AN INSPIRATION!

This image of a teaching demonstration for a DepEd position brings back a flood of memories. I vividly recall those intense moments where I literally "sell myself," showcasing everything I've got and all I can do for the learners. The sleepless nights preparing, perfecting lesson plans, and meticulously thinking through every detail for the demonstration – it was truly a challenging journey to apply and finally secure that coveted item. It makes me reflect on how much passion and dedication goes into reaching this point (a school principal).

To our inspiring teacher aspirants currently on this journey, keep pushing forward! Your dedication, those late nights of preparation, and your unwavering belief in the power of education will pay off. Every step you take now is building the foundation for the impactful educator you are destined to become. Keep learning, keep believing, and hold onto that passion for our learners.

To my fellow educators who are now living their dream and have an item, continue to love your work with all your heart. Remember that it was once that dream you fought so hard for, those countless hours you poured into it, and the unwavering belief you had in your calling. Your perseverance led you here, and your passion continues to shape young minds.

'I OBSERVED THE ONE WHO OBSERVED ME'
(MY ECP STORY)

Today marks a full-circle moment in my educational journey. As a school principal, I had the privilege of conducting a classroom observation for my former cooperating teacher—the very mentor who guided me through my internship years ago.

As I sat at the back of her classroom, pen and observation notes in hand, a wave of nostalgia washed over me. For a moment, I could almost feel myself transported back in time, no longer a principal but the nervous intern I once was. I found myself reliving those days when I would sit in this same spot, quietly observing her before I stepped into the classroom to engage with learners for the first time. Every gesture, every way she connected with her students, every pause she took to ensure understanding—it all felt exactly as I remembered it.

Watching her teach was a powerful reminder of the foundation she helped me build. She was the one who first taught me the art of crafting impactful lesson plans, what's the best motivation, best strategy and provided the technical assistance that shaped my instructional skills. Her advice was instrumental in helping me achieve my professional goals, ultimately leading me to the leadership position I hold today. It is an honor to now return the favor, observing the educator who first observed me.

Congratulations mam Arlene Padasas Dinampo a seasoned TLE teacher of Ilustre HS🥰
