SESGD–MOST BARMM TODAY | Basilan Young Innovators Shine at the 3rd Bangsamoro Students' Innova-thon

The Science Education Scholarship and Grants Division (SESGD) of the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) BARMM successfully concluded the 3rd Bangsamoro Students' Innova-thon at Sittie Auna Resort, Lamitan City, bringing together the brightest young innovators from the Schools Division of Basilan and Lamitan City for a three-day showcase of science, technology, creativity, and innovation.

More than 50 student innovators, accompanied by their dedicated teacher-coaches from various secondary schools across Basilan and Lamitan City, participated in collaborative workshops, mentoring sessions, prototype development, and innovation pitching. Throughout the program, participants transformed creative ideas into functional prototypes that addressed pressing local challenges, demonstrating the remarkable ingenuity, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities of Bangsamoro youth.

The Bangsamoro Students' Innova-thon is one of the flagship initiatives of the Science Education Scholarship and Grants Division (SESGD) that reflects its unwavering commitment to strengthening quality basic education through science, technology, and innovation. The program equips young Bangsamoro innovators with the knowledge, skills, and design-thinking competencies necessary to identify community needs and develop practical, technology-driven solutions to real-world challenges—particularly those confronting the island provinces of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region.

By fostering creativity, research, collaboration, and an innovation mindset, SESGD continues to inspire and empower the next generation of Bangsamoro scientists, engineers, researchers, entrepreneurs, and technology leaders who will contribute to sustainable development and inclusive progress across the region.
