The ORP Director, Dr. Tarhata S. Guiamalon, Dr. Marwisa S. Salam, Dean of CAS; Dr. Raffeq Alim, VPREDRG Executive Assistant; Dr. Esmael Lawan, Head of GS Education Program; Asst. Prof. Rhanest Tilendo, Director of the Agroforestry Center, and Dean Farida Dimalen of the CFo recently attended a workshop entitled "Research for Accreditation & World Ranking" in Cagayan de Oro City.

The Goal? To elevate CSU’s research impact using:

𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐃 | The 𝟐𝐧𝐝 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐥 𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐘 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓, organized by SOCCSKSARGEN Agriculture, Aquatic, and Natural Resources Research and Development Consortium (𝐒𝐎𝐗𝐀𝐀𝐑𝐑𝐃𝐄𝐂), brought together Consortium Member Institutions (CMI) to discuss key initiatives and progress in agriculture, aquatic, and natural resources research and development. Representing Cotabato State University (CSU) President, 𝐃𝐫. 𝐒𝐞𝐦𝐚 𝐆. 𝐃𝐢𝐥𝐧𝐚,, was 𝐃𝐫. 𝐓𝐚𝐫𝐡𝐚𝐭𝐚 𝐒. 𝐆𝐮𝐢𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐧, University Research Director who attended the meeting on December 11, 2025, at Habi Hotel in Koronadal City. The meeting was presided by 𝐃𝐫. 𝐄𝐝𝐰𝐢𝐧 𝐓. 𝐁𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐤𝐢, RRDCC Chairperson and SCC President. Department of Agriculture- Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources XII (DA-BFAR XII) sponsored the said meeting.

The meeting proper started at 10:00 AM, with the presentation and approval of the agenda, followed by the reading of the highlights of the previous meeting by 𝐃𝐫. 𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐢𝐮𝐬 𝐉𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐆. 𝐄𝐥𝐞, Consortium Director

The meeting's agenda included presentations on the Accomplishment Report for current year, Financial Report, Consortium Updates, Collection of Accomplishment Report, and the RAISE Program in Region XII. These discussions aimed to enhance collaboration, share best practices, and drive innovation in the region's agriculture and natural resources sectors. 𝐃𝐫. 𝐒𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐥𝐚 𝐄. 𝐀𝐛𝐝𝐮𝐥𝐚, RRDCC Vice Chairperson and PhilRice-MES Branch Director, delivered closing remarks before the meeting was adjourned.

CSU's participation underscores its commitment to contributing to regional development through research and partnerships.

READ | The RAISE SOCCSKSARGEN: Innovation, Partnerships, & Agripreneurship Pitch Fest 2025 recently took place on December 10-11, 2025, at the USM Commercial Building in Kabacan, Cotabato. This event brought together stakeholders to showcase innovative projects and ideas in agriculture and agribusiness. Cotabato State University (CSU) was among the participants, highlighting its commitment to driving innovation and entrepreneurship in the region.

Representing CSU at the event was Director of Agri-Forestry Center, Aprof. Rhanest Tilendo, who presented an innovative project titled "INNOVATIVE BITE-SIZED TINAGTAG: PROFITABLE HERITAGE AND SUSTAINABLE MARKET IMPACT." The presentation showcased University’s efforts in developing sustainable and marketable products that promote local heritage.

Additionally, Baina Saway, program head of BS Agribusiness, presented "CSU CORN POLVORON," a product that exemplifies the university's focus on agribusiness innovation.

Through its participation in the RAISE SOCCSKSARGEN Pitch Fest, CsU demonstrated its dedication to fostering partnerships, driving innovation, and promoting agripreneurship in the region. The event provided a valuable platform for networking and sharing ideas, contributing to the advancement of the agriculture sector in SOCCSKSARGEN.

The event, themed "𝙀𝙢𝙥𝙤𝙬𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝘾𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙚𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝 𝘼𝘼𝙉𝙍 𝙍𝙚𝙨𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙘𝙝 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝘿𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙡𝙤𝙥𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙞𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙎𝙊𝘾𝘾𝙎𝙆𝙎𝘼𝙍𝙂𝙀𝙉 𝙍𝙚𝙜𝙞𝙤𝙣" brings together esteemed researchers, experts, and stakeholders to share innovative ideas and showcase groundbreaking research and development in agriculture, aquatic, and natural resources.

The distinguished panel of evaluators, including 𝗗𝗿. 𝗝𝘂𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗼 𝗧. 𝗕𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗻, Deputy Executive Director for R&D, DOST-PCAARRD, 𝗗𝗿. 𝗡𝗮𝗼𝗺𝗶 𝗚. 𝗧𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗻, DOST Lifetime Scientist and Researcher, Professor Emeritus of USM, and 𝗗𝗿. 𝗘𝗺𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗲𝗹 𝗣. 𝗟𝗲𝗮ñ𝗼 Professor VI, Central Mindanao University (CMU). They were introduced by 𝗗𝗿. 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝗶𝘂𝘀 𝗝𝗲𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗚. 𝗘𝗹𝗲, Consortium Director of SOXAARRDEC.

The event highlights the importance of research and development in driving progress and innovation in the region, and CSU is proud to be part of this initiative.

CSU attended the 2nd Bangsamoro Scientific Conference and 5th BARMM Health Research Forum held at the Blue Lotus Hotel in Davao City on November 16, 2025. The Director of the Office of Research Programs (ORP), 𝐃𝐫. 𝐓𝐚𝐫𝐡𝐚𝐭𝐚 𝐒. 𝐆𝐮𝐢𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐧, represented CSU.

In this event, organized by the Bangsamoro Health Research and Development Consortium (BHRDC), researchers, professionals, and students came together to advance the scientific and technological landscape of the region. This year's conference theme, "Connected Research, Shared Future: Advancing Food, Technology, and Health for a Resilient Bangsamoro," highlighted the importance of science-driven development and evidence-based policymaking in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

A number of health-related research studies were presented at the conference with the aim of strengthening the region's research and innovation capabilities.

Studies on the Agriculture, Aquatic & Natural Resources (AANR) and the Industry, Energy & Emerging Technology (IEET) tracks were presented during the forum in order to harmonize the Bangsamoro agenda for research and development. Through this initiative, BARMM demonstrated their commitment to evidence-based policymaking and science-driven development.
