𝐊𝐀-𝐁𝐈𝐎 𝐉𝐎𝐈𝐍𝐒 𝐋𝐔𝐌𝐈𝐍𝐀𝐑𝐀 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔: 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐅𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐇𝐈𝐄𝐒 𝐃𝐀𝐘💃🕺

Our 𝗕𝗶𝗼 𝗙𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗵𝗺𝗲𝗻 showed up with pure excitement, enjoying every second of Luminara on August 05, 2026, as they enthusiastically joined the Campus Craze Games, Chinese Garter Showdown, and many more. Meanwhile, our 𝗕𝗶𝗼𝗦𝗼𝗰 “𝗕𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝗘𝗰𝗼𝗦𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗮” 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗿𝘀 brought high energy to the Entourage and Open Salvo for this academic year.

𝗝𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗲 𝗞𝗮𝗿𝗹 𝗦. 𝗥𝘂𝗶𝘇, a 1st-year Microbiology student walked the FRESHIES PARADA: Freshies Runway, while 𝗥𝗶𝗰𝗸 𝗟𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗱 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗮 also a 1st-year Microbiology student, represented our department in the Dance Showdown. Both of them showcased confidence and talent, proudly carrying the pride of the 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀 (𝗖𝗔𝗦) and the 𝗕𝗶𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 with every step and move.

The BS Biology freshmen students officially began their college journey through the BS Biology 1st Year Orientation, held yesterday July 30, 2026 at the White Building, Cotabato State University!

The event started with prayers and opening ceremonies, followed by warm welcome remarks from Ma'am Sarip Tarita A. Ampatuan-Ali, MSc, BS Biology Program Head who welcomed our newest Ka-Bio's with encouragement and joy.

Students were also given a comprehensive overview of the BS Biology Program, covering proper uniform guidelines by Ma'am Bai Rehanah V. Dilna, RN, MAN; expectations for the Microbiology and Ecology tracks by Ma'am Chea Mae Libo-on, RMicro and Ma'am Chasty Andrea S. Aguirre; and the grading system explained by Sir Edison M. Cajandig, MSciEd.

The freshmen were further introduced to the Biology curriculum by Ma’am Sarip Tarita A. Ampatuan-Ali, MSc, BS Biology Program Head. This was followed by the introduction of the new set of Biological Society officers and their oath-taking ceremony, and concluded with the closing remarks from Sir Alfar Radzak.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the CotSU-BioSoc officers for their hard work and dedication in organizing a smooth and successful orientation for our incoming Ka-Bio's.

To our newest members of the BioFam, welcome! We hope this orientation is just the beginning of many meaningful experiences as you grow into future biologists.

‎In celebration of 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐃𝐚𝐲 on 𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐲 𝟐𝟔, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, the 𝐁𝐢𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐭𝐲, together with the 𝐁𝐢𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐨𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐨 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲, proudly participated in the Simultaneous Mangrove Planting Activity – Year 2 as Eco-Stewards.

‎Together with different government agencies, organizations, volunteers, and community members, we planted mangroves as one way of helping protect our coastal environment and promote a greener and healthier future. This activity reminds us that even small actions can make a big difference when we work together.
‎
‎With this, we would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to 𝐊𝐮𝐭𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐭𝐨 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬 (𝐊𝐆𝐈) for organizing this meaningful activity and for giving us the opportunity to take part in this environmental initiative. We would also like to thank 𝐒𝐢𝐫 𝐃𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐥𝐨 𝐓. Beneath the tangled roots of the mangrove lies a story of resilience. These trees thrive where land meets sea, standing firm against the tides. 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝟮𝟲, we celebrate World Mangrove Day, the 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗘𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺, 𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝗨𝗡𝗘𝗦𝗖𝗢 𝗶𝗻 𝟮𝟬𝟭𝟱 to raise awareness about the vital role mangroves play in protecting our coastlines, supporting marine biodiversity, and fighting the effects of climate change. Mangroves act as natural barriers against storms and erosion, serve as nurseries for countless marine species, and are among the most effective carbon sinks on the planet.

This World Mangrove Day, 𝗖𝗼𝘁𝗦𝗨-𝗕𝗶𝗼𝗦𝗼𝗰 encourages everyone to appreciate and protect these vital ecosystems. Let's stay rooted in purpose and continue leading through innovation! Protecting our environment starts with each one of us.

The 𝐂𝐨𝐭𝐒𝐔-𝐁𝐢𝐨𝐒𝐨𝐜 participated in the 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐄𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐩 held on May 19, 2026, at the Alnor Hotel and Convention Center. The workshop was hosted by 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐬𝐢𝐚 𝐅𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 and 𝐀𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐀𝐢𝐝 through the Coalitions for Change (CfC) Program in partnership with 𝐊𝐮𝐭𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐭𝐨 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬, 𝐈𝐧𝐜. (𝐊𝐆𝐈).

𝐂𝐨𝐭𝐒𝐔-𝐁𝐢𝐨𝐒𝐨𝐜 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭, 𝐁𝐚𝐢 𝐒𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐞 𝐑𝐡𝐞𝐡𝐚𝐦 𝐑.
