There’s something quiet about this journey. It doesn’t always feel like progress while it’s happening. It often just feels like passing days, unfinished tasks, tired nights, and trying again even when we’re not sure if we can.

𝟏𝐬𝐭 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫 was stepping into something unfamiliar—holding onto courage we didn’t know we had, pretending to be ready when we were still learning everything.
𝟐𝐧𝐝 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫 was adjustment—slowly realizing that not everything will make sense right away, and that’s okay, we just had to keep going.
𝟑𝐫𝐝 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫 was weight—when expectations felt heavier, time felt faster, and even resting didn’t always feel restful.
And 𝟒𝐭𝐡 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫 is reflection—not just about reaching something, but about remembering everything it took just to still be here.

𝐆𝐋𝐄𝐖 𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩, 𝐡𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐫𝐬 𝐭𝐨𝐩 𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬

A new chapter of leadership unfolded as the Guild of Language Educators and Writers (GLEW) held its turnover ceremony on April 18, 2026, at the BURKE AVR, formally passing responsibilities to the newly elected officers for the academic year 2026-2027.

The ceremony highlighted the transition of leadership, as incoming officers took their oath and committed themselves to serving the organization and upholding its mission of promoting excellence in language education and writing.

The event also recognized the dedication and service of the outgoing officers, who were commended for their hard work and contributions throughout their term. Their leadership played a vital role in strengthening the organization and guiding its members over the past year.

Alongside the leadership transition, GLEW honored students who demonstrated outstanding academic performance. Certificates and medals were awarded to the Top 10 students of the August and September 2026 Mock Board Scrimmage in recognition of their excellence and perseverance.

Students who excelled in the Teaching Demonstration were also recognized for their effective teaching skills, creativity, and professionalism—qualities essential for future educators.

The ceremony served as both a celebration of achievements and a moment of inspiration for members to continue striving for excellence. It brought together officers, members, and awardees in a meaningful gathering that reflected the organization’s commitment to leadership, service, and academic distinction.

The program concluded with a sense of renewed purpose, as the new set of officers officially assumed their roles and prepared to lead GLEW toward greater success.
