| NDU-JPCM Marks Five-Day Young Entrepreneurship Summit 2026

With the purpose of inspiring and equipping aspiring entrepreneurs through informative presentations and engaging discussions, the Junior Philippine Council of Management (JPCM) of Notre Dame University (NDU) successfully marked the five-day Young Entrepreneurship Summit (Y.E.S.) 2026 on August 22 through a combination of online and face-to-face sessions held at the Cardinal Quevedo Gymnasium.

The five-day summit gathered college and senior high school students from various schools in Cotabato City, including:

Coland Systems Technology Inc.
Cotabato State University
Dr. P. Ocampo Colleges, Inc.
Mindanao Capitol Colleges, Inc.
Notre Dame of Cotabato
Notre Dame - RVM College of Cotabato, Inc.
Notre Dame University
Notre Dame Village National High School
St. Benedict College of Cotabato, Inc.
Systems Technology Institute

The fifth day of Y.E.S. 2026 circled on franchising and entrepreneurship, led by the Guest Speaker Mr. Terence Neil S. Padrique, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of The Lemon Co., who focused on the key strategies for business growth. Afterwards, an open forum followed where students raised real-world business problems and shared their ideas.

To formally acknowledge his invaluable contributions, Mr. Padrique was awarded a certificate and token of appreciation. Delegates were also awarded certificates and tokens for their participation. Following this, the winners for the Business Model Canvas Presentation and Strategic Business Advertising were announced.

In his closing remarks, Mr. Myth Villa, JPCM President, urged the students to carry with them the ideas and perspectives they have learned from the summit.

“A summit like this does not truly end when the program ends—it ends when we stop applying what we have learned,” Mr. Villa said.

With day five concluded, the summit officially came to a close, marking another milestone for young business innovators.

𝗡𝗘𝗪𝗦 | Accountancy, Business, and Management (ABM) Students of Notre Dame of Cotabato Participate in Youth Entrepreneurship Summit 2026

Cotabato City — Selected Senior High School students under the ABM strand participated in the face-to-face part of Youth Entrepreneurship Summit (YES) 2026, held on August 14–15, 2026, at the Cardinal Quevedo Gymnasium, Notre Dame University (NDU), Cotabato City.

18 students participated in the summit, namely: Pauline Bernabe, Kesha Kaze Saraza, Abdul Khayr Macapintal, Hadi Mato, Cyril Fantonalgo, Percy Ramirez, Ariz Abdullah, Jhannel Pacheco, Jibrael Omal, Yang Reedah Sulaiman, Sophia Faith Bendong, JC Mykiel Untal, Amanda Mercado, Elieza Umda, Michelle Villas, Vetkin Morales, Jannah Reyes, and Bridgette Vesillas.

The summit was facilitated by the Junior Philippine Council of Management (JPCM) in collaboration with the Business and Governance Department of the College of Business and Accountancy of NDU. It carried the theme, “Empowering Future-Ready Entrepreneurs Through Artificial Intelligence, Transformative Leadership, and Innovative Business Excellence anchored in F.I.R.E.S.”

On the first day, Atty. Ronald Hallid D. Torres served as the guest speaker, sharing insights that enriched the students’ understanding of entrepreneurship and leadership. Because of him, participants learned that entrepreneurship goes beyond building a business—it also involves leading a team and using Artificial Intelligence responsibly.

On the second day, Dr. B**g B. Lumabao, PDSML, PDDQM, PhD, HC, LPT, discussed idea generation and emphasized that ideas become enterprises when they address real problems or needs. He highlighted four entrepreneurial qualities: Competence, Consistency, Confidence, and Character.

The two-day summit strengthened the students’ understanding of entrepreneurship, innovation, leadership, and responsible AI use, preparing them to become future-ready entrepreneurs.

Lumabao, PDSML, PDDQM, PhD, HC, LPT, who shared valuable insights on the realities of entrepreneurship and the mindset needed to turn ideas into meaningful enterprises.

He emphasizes that “𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐮𝐫 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐧 𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐚. 𝐁𝐮𝐭 𝐚𝐧 𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐚 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧 𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐲 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐢𝐭 𝐦𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐬 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲” — highlighting that entrepreneurship requires action, resilience, adaptability, and perseverance to transform ideas into opportunities.
