Meet Mark. He is just about finished with his internship at Reggae Dive Center.

Read on to get to know Mark better.

A little bit about him:
Mark Reggae Reavley
27 years young
Australian and British
Project Engineer

How far into you dive master are you currently?
3/4 of the way through

How is it going?
Good it’s been nice to have a bit of routine and some challenges and learnings again while travelling beyond a good cooking class or thrill adventure tour/experience.

What's your most favourite part of the day?
Sharing a laugh under the water over something funny that happened during a dive or skill and then retelling it back on the boat (above water) is always great.

What's your least favourite part of the day?
Probably waiting for boat to unload, waiting for the tricycle to take crates. Was a little annoying waiting just to wash our gear at the shop especially when we were sometimes having dinner down by the port anyway that evening. (All part of the role though I know)

How do you find the studying?
Studying was fine :) could imagine it may be hard for people with less of an academic background though.

What made you chose Reggae Dive Center for your Dive master?
They were the biggest with most variety (for us it meant meeting more people and more opportunities than any other place in Coron)

Does the dive master course so far meet expectations?
Similar to my expectations I didn’t think the skills demonstrating would be as much of a thing and I thought more teaching “how to guide” but no issues with that.

Where will you go after your course?
North Korea next if the boarder opens up again (due to Corona virus) then through Asia to the west 🙂.

Will you continue to work as a dive master?
Maybe work on a live aboard when I get to the carribean but no immediate plans.

How do you prepare your buddy team before entering the water?

How far into you dive master are you currently?
I finished the skills part and the theory part of my internship.

How is it going?
It's going very well, it's like getting your driver license. After finishing the skills and academics you're improving your learned skills and it's more fun practicing it.

What's your most favourite part of the day?
The diving part of course, showing the fun divers around and getting more and more familiar with the dive sites especially the wrecks of course.

What's your least favourite part of the day?
Well that's probably to load and unload the tanks, but that's just a part of it right?

How do you find the studying?
It was easier than expected, because Istill remembered a lot of all my previously courses I did which is a part of the Divemaster program.

What made you chose Reggae Dive Center for you Dive master?
First I looked for a special divesites in the Philippines, so I found coron with its very nice authentic wrecks from "World War II" so I mad my decision to go to coron, and "Reagge Dive Center" had the most and best reviews.

Does the dive master course so far meet expectations?
Well I can't say that because I didn't have specific expectations how it's gonna be. I just heard of things others did when they were an DMT it beside little differences it was what I heard. Some did more special reef stuff I did more about wreck diving. So the differences were just about the different divesites.

Where will you go after your course?
I will continue my travels. First off, I am going to New Zealand and then I will head to Canada for a while before returning back to Germany.

Will you continue to work as a dive master?
I don't know. I don't think so but then again my dive master was a spontaneous decision I made just 5 days before arriving in the Philippines.
So who knows what's coming

There are plenty of animals in the ocean - and some of them quite big.

Which animal do you think is larger than a blue whale?

Watch the video and find out.
