Palawan State Universityโ€“Coron Honors Educators and Recognizes Campus Leaders in Joint Celebration

Palawan State Universityโ€“Coron Campus brought together university administrators, faculty and staff members, local government officials, student leaders, and members of the student community for a meaningful evening of recognition, leadership, and fellowship during its joint Teachersโ€™ Day Celebration, Induction Ceremony, and Acquaintance Party held on October 3, 2026, at the campus grounds.

The three-part celebration highlighted the vital contributions of educators, formally welcomed newly elected and appointed student leaders into office, and provided students and members of the academic community an opportunity to strengthen camaraderie beyond the classroom.

The evening commenced with an invocation, followed by the singing of the Philippine National Anthem and the Palawan State University Hymn, setting a solemn and celebratory tone for the occasion. The atmosphere then shifted into one of appreciation and festivity as faculty and staff members made their red carpet entrance, receiving recognition from the university community for their dedication, service, and continued commitment to student development.

Campus Director Mr. Mark Justine D. Vicera delivered the welcome remarks, expressing appreciation to the members of the faculty, staff, student body, university administration, parents, stakeholders and local government for their participation in the celebration. His message formally opened an evening dedicated not only to recognizing the accomplishments of educators but also to strengthening the relationship between the university and the community it serves.

A series of tribute messages followed, with representatives from various departments sharing words of gratitude and appreciation for the faculty members who continue to guide students through their academic and personal journeys. The celebration was further enlivened by a musical performance from Ms. Almea Amoren, adding a warm and festive touch to the program.

As part of the Teachersโ€™ Day celebration, educators were formally presented with certificates of appreciation, gifts, and tokens of gratitude. The recognition served as a gesture of appreciation for the patience, dedication, professionalism, and invaluable contributions of teachers and academic personnel in shaping the students of Palawan State Universityโ€“Coron Campus.

Adding further excitement to the faculty recognition segment was a raffle draw made possible through the generosity and support of local partners and community supporters. Faculty and staff members had the opportunity to win various prizes, with the eveningโ€™s grand prize being an exclusive one-night stay at Discovery Coron, providing an additional highlight to the celebration.

Beyond the recognition of educators, the event also marked an important milestone for the campus student body as newly elected and appointed campus leaders formally assumed their responsibilities through the Oath of Office and Pledge of Commitment.

The induction ceremony was administered by Municipal Vice Mayor Hon. Ashian Manasseh Lorenzo Palanca, who led the incoming leaders in affirming their commitment to uphold their responsibilities and serve the interests of the student community. The ceremony formally installed student representatives from various levels of student governance and campus organizations, including the Higher Council, Lower Council, and independent student organizations such as English Club and the student publication, Ang Bisara, reflecting the diverse areas through which students contribute to campus life, leadership, communication, and community engagement. Parent-Teachers Council and Faculty and Staff Club officers took also their oath as they navigate their respective organizations.

Following the oath-taking, Vice Mayor Palanca delivered an inspirational message to the newly inducted officers. He encouraged the student leaders, parents and faculty and staff members to embrace their responsibilities with integrity, accountability, and a genuine commitment to service.

The event also featured remarks from Hon. Michael Bonito Sadhwani, member of the Sangguniang Bayan Committee for Education, who emphasized the significant role of young people and student leaders in community development. His message highlighted the importance of youth participation in addressing community concerns and encouraged the newly inducted officers to use their positions as opportunities to create positive change.

Accepting the mandate on behalf of the student body, USG President Mr. Anthony Gabriel D. Cabrestante delivered the Message of Acceptance. In his address, Cabrestante expressed the commitment of the newly inducted student leaders to proactive governance, responsible representation, and meaningful engagement with the student body. He emphasized the importance of listening to studentsโ€™ concerns and working collectively to build a more responsive and inclusive campus community.

The formal program concluded with closing remarks from Ms. Joan O. Kong of the Student Records Office, who expressed appreciation to everyone who contributed to the success of the celebration and encouraged the university community to continue fostering cooperation, respect, and unity.

The night ended with a Coachella-themed celebration where everyone had the chance to have fun, make friends and dance through festive music.

More than a celebration, the event reflected the universityโ€™s continuing commitment to recognizing educators, empowering student leaders, and strengthening partnerships between the institution and the local community. By bringing together academic leaders, students, parents, stakeholders and local government representatives, the celebration underscored the shared responsibility of building a campus environment grounded in service, leadership, collaboration, and appreciation.

May the spirit of excellence, service, and leadership continue to inspire the entire PSUโ€“Coron community. Padayon! ๐Ÿงกโ˜๐Ÿป

The election marked the beginning of another term of leadership and service, with the newly elected officers and trustees entrusted with continuing the organizationโ€™s programs, activities, and partnership with the university.

A major highlight of the General Assembly was the turnover of the laboratories, Speech Laboratory, and BSBA Simulation Laboratory, projects supported through the assistance and sponsorship of the Parents-Teachers Council. The General Assembly also served as an avenue for the PTC and the university community to reaffirm their commitment to continued collaboration. The active participation of parents, faculty members, school officials, and PTC leaders reflects the importance of working together toward a common goalโ€”the welfare, development, and success of the students.

Through sustained collaboration and shared responsibility, the PTC and Palawan State Universityโ€“Coron Campus continue to work together in building a stronger and more supportive learning environment for students.
