March 8 was considered National Women’s Day pursuant to Republic Act No. 6949 and is part of the National Women’s Month Celebration with this year’s theme: “WE for Gender Equality and Inclusive Society "
The Palawan State University Coron Campus celebrates Women's Month 2023 through a program that aims to empower women in all sectors of society. The program consists of lectures designed to address topics related to gender equality.
Thank you to our Keynote speaker Prosecutor Rosemary U. Acosta, who shared her personal experience in the justice system to lead the event. She highlighted some of the areas where progress was made to promote gender equality in the justice system. However, she also pointed out some areas where progress must be made to achieve true gender equality in the justice system. Through her experiences, she shared with us how she overcame obstacles to become a successful prosecutor, and how our society has reached a point where gender equality is a priority. This is an important message to spread to people all over the world.
We would also like to thank our Campus Director, Ms. Vinamar D. Odasco, for the approval of organizing this important program for our campus community. She believed in the importance of having this event on our campus, and she encouraged us to take the lead to make change happen. We are grateful for the support and guidance.
We hope that all of our students will take something away from this event and apply it to their daily lives. We also hope that everyone who attended the event had a fun time learning about the importance of gender equality and how it affects us all.
