6TH TRAINING DAY | DISCIPLINE • LEADERSHIP • SERVICE

The 6th Training Day of the ROTC Unit was filled with meaningful activities that strengthened the cadets’ discipline, knowledge, skills, and commitment to service.

The cadets continued practicing basic facing movements, developing proper ex*****on, coordination, discipline, and attentiveness to commands.

The ASC ROTC Unit–Conner Campus successfully conducted the Turn-over command ceremony, marking the transition of leadership and responsibilities among cadet officers.

Congratulations to CDT Lieutenant Colonel 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗼 𝗝𝗮𝘆𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗱, the newly appointed Corps Commander! May you lead the Corps with honor, integrity, discipline, and dedication. May your leadership inspire your fellow cadets to serve with purpose and commitment.

𝗠𝗔𝗝 𝗠𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗹𝘆𝗻 𝗠𝗮𝘀𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗴 (Assistant Commandant) of the CONNER-ROTC UNIT conducted an informative lecture entitled “Human Rights,” helping cadets understand the importance of respecting and protecting the rights, dignity, and freedoms of every individual.

The training day concluded with a clean-up drive, promoting teamwork, cleanliness, environmental responsibility, and community service.

Through these activities, the ROTC Unit continues to mold cadets into disciplined, responsible, and service-oriented individuals prepared to contribute to their community and nation.

The ASC ROTC Unit – Conner Campus actively participated in the Flag Raising Ceremony in celebration of National Reservist Week (NRW) 2026, a significant occasion that recognizes the invaluable contributions and commitment of the nation’s reservists in support of national defense and security.

Following the ceremony, C/COL Joseph Santos Jr. delivered a lecture on Army Core Philosophy to the cadets, emphasizing the fundamental principles, values, discipline, and leadership essential in molding responsible and capable future military leaders.

Furthermore, TSg Mayer C. Valera (INF) PA conducted a lecture on Basic Rifle Marksmanship Training, providing the cadets with essential knowledge on the principles and fundamentals of marksmanship as part of their continuing military training and development.

The activity reflects the ASC ROTC Unit – Conner Campus’ unwavering commitment to developing disciplined, competent, and patriotic cadets who are prepared to serve the nation with honor, duty, and loyalty.

Army Reserve Command chief tells 120 BCMT trainees: Build discipline, skills, readiness to serve

Major General Ronald Jess S. Alcudia, commander of the Philippine Army Reserve Command, called on 120 Basic Citizen Military Training participants to build the discipline, teamwork and skills expected of future Army reservists.

Alcudia delivered the message during the opening of BCMT Class 02-2026 on September 10 at the BGV Jr. Memorial Sports Center in Luna.

He said the 45-day course will train participants in basic military knowledge and skills while testing their discipline, attitude and commitment.

He told the trainees that their professions, educational backgrounds and places of origin matter less than their willingness to serve. As reservists, he said, they may be called to support communities during disasters, emergencies, security operations and other contingencies.

Alcudia also pointed to the country’s exposure to typhoons, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and other emergencies as one reason a capable reserve force remains necessary.

He encouraged the trainees to develop technical skills in areas such as information technology, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and engineering, citing their growing importance in military operations and modernization.

Alcudia said the objective is to produce reservists who are competent, confident and ready to respond when needed, rather than simply complete the course.

“The Philippines does not ask you to become heroes overnight. It asks you to become reliable citizens who are ready to serve when needed,” Alcudia said.

He urged the trainees to train hard, learn well, serve with humility and remain prepared to answer the call of duty.
