Congratulations to Andrea D. Araya, Supreme Student Council President of NISU in Concepcion, on her election as Chairman of the Committee on Finance of the NISU Federated Supreme Student Council for A.Y. 2026–2027.

Elected unopposed with 51 votes, Andrea now carries the voice and representation of NISU in Concepcion into the University-wide student leadership.

𝗡𝗜𝗦𝗨 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗻𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗙𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝗦𝗖 𝗘𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀

August 18, 2026 — Supreme Student Council (SSC) leaders from the different campuses of Northern Iloilo State University (NISU) convened today for the Federated Supreme Student Council Election and Meeting held at the Hostel Function Hall of NISU Victorino Salcedo Sara Campus.

The University-wide gathering brought together student leaders from across NISU to elect representatives who will take on key positions in the Federation and represent the collective interests of the student body for Academic Year 2026–2027.

During the elections, David Fortich Golingay, SSC President of the Victorino Salcedo Sara Campus, secured the student representative seat in the NISU Regency after running unopposed. He garnered 48 votes, with three abstentions.

Meanwhile, Februaryn Dream Josue, SSC President of the NISU Main Campus, was elected Federation Vice President with 36 votes, while NISU Ajuy SSC President Yzzavella Pestaño garnered 13 votes.

NISU in Concepcion was also represented in the newly constituted Federation, with SSC President Andrea D. Araya elected unopposed as Chairman of the Committee on Finance, garnering 51 votes.

Beyond the election of officers, the gathering provided an avenue for student leaders from the different campuses to strengthen coordination, establish shared directions, and reinforce student representation at the University level.
The newly elected officers are expected to work collaboratively in advancing student interests and fostering a more responsive and unified student government across the NISU community.

𝟐𝟕𝟐 𝐍𝐈𝐒𝐔 𝐢𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐩𝐜𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐓𝐄𝐒, 𝐓𝐃𝐏 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐬 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞

August 17, 2026– A total of 272 student beneficiaries from Northern Iloilo State University (NISU) in Concepcion received their financial grants under the Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) and Tulong Dunong Program (TDP)earlier today, providing much-needed support as they continue their college education.

The distribution was graced by NISU University President Dr. Raffy B. Chavez, who proudly spoke about the University’s scholars and recognized the opportunities that scholarship and financial assistance programs provide to NISU students. In his message, he encouraged the beneficiaries to value the support extended to them and to continue striving toward their academic goals.

Also present during the activity was Iloilo Provincial Board Member Dr. Darl Tupas, who shared a message with the student beneficiaries and underscored the importance of educational opportunities in helping young people build better futures for themselves, their families, and their communities.

Beyond the release of financial assistance, the activity highlighted the significance of programs such as TES and TDP in making higher education more accessible to students who need additional financial support.

For the 272 NISU in Concepcion beneficiaries, the grants represent more than financial assistance—they are an opportunity to continue moving forward with their education and a reminder to make the most of the support entrusted to them.

NISU in Concepcion remains committed to connecting its students with scholarship opportunities and programs that help make the pursuit of higher education more attainable.

𝐍𝐈𝐒𝐔 𝐢𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐩𝐜𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐊𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐬 𝐎𝐟𝐟 𝐍𝐒𝐓𝐏 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔–𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟕 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐎𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐬 𝐂𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐧-𝐔𝐩

Northern Iloilo State University (NISU) in Concepcion officially commenced its National Service Training Program (NSTP) for Academic Year 2026–2027 earlier today, bringing together all enrolled NSTP students for their first day of activities.

The program began with an orientation at the Concepcion Municipal Auditorium, where students were introduced to the National Service Training Program and its three components: Civic Welfare Training Service (CWTS), Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC), and Literacy Training Service (LTS). The orientation also covered class schedules, prescribed attire, attendance policies, and the responsibilities expected of students throughout the program.

The activity was spearheaded by NSTP Coordinator Dr. Denro B. Macario, together with NSTP implementers Dr. Brandon P. Rivera and Ms. Allyson Jade O. Dajay, with the support of Mrs. Glaiza B. Alerta, CPA, OIC Campus Administrator. Members of the National Service Reserve Corps (NSRC) also assisted as facilitators during the activity.

In her message, Mrs. Alerta emphasized the importance of discipline, leadership, volunteerism, and patriotism, encouraging students to develop these values as they prepare to become responsible citizens and agents of positive change in their communities.

During the orientation proper, Dr. Macario provided an overview of the NSTP, while Ms. Dajay discussed policies on attendance and proper uniforms. Dr. Rivera, meanwhile, oriented the students on their respective class schedules, venues, and expected tasks.

In her closing remarks, Dajay reminded the students that NSTP is more than a course requirement—it is an opportunity to develop a deeper sense of responsibility and service.
“Indi lang ni siya something nga gina-ubra para lang i-impose sa inyo. This is part of developing the discipline expected of you as students of Northern Iloilo State University,” Dajay emphasized.” Dajay said.

Following the orientation, the students returned to the NISU in Concepcion campus and proceeded to their designated areas for a campus-wide clean-up, putting into practice the spirit of service and shared responsibility introduced during the day's orientation.

The first day marks the beginning of a semester-long NSTP journey aimed at developing students who are not only academically prepared but also disciplined, socially responsible, and ready to serve their communities and the nation.

𝐎𝐍𝐄 𝐍𝐈𝐒𝐔, 𝐎𝐍𝐄 𝐕𝐈𝐒𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐍𝐒𝐓𝐏

The Northern Iloilo State University community has come together for the 2-Day Knowledge Sharing and Capability Building Program for NSTP Implementers, currently being held at the New Beach Head Resort, Carles, Iloilo.

The activity serves as a significant step toward institutionalizing the operations of the National Service Training Program (NSTP) across the entire NISU System, reaffirming the University's commitment to delivering a more responsive, relevant, and unified NSTP program.

In his inspiring message, University President Dr. Raffy B. Chavez underscored the significance of this undertaking, emphasizing that through collaborative initiatives such as this, the University continues to embody the spirit of One NISU—working collectively toward a shared vision of excellence in service and education.

Messages of support were likewise delivered by Dr. Veminrose Clariza-Samuel, Campus Administrator of NISU in Estancia, and Dr. Gilda E. Deguma, Vice President for Academic Affairs, who both highlighted the vital role of NSTP in developing socially responsible, civic-minded, and nation-building graduates.

Over the course of the two-day capability-building program, NSTP implementers from across the University System are engaging in collaborative discussions on the formulation of the NISU NSTP Operations Manual, the crafting of a standardized NSTP Syllabus, and the sharing of NSTP best practices to further strengthen and harmonize the implementation of the program in all NISU campuses.

Representing NISU in Concepcion in this important undertaking are Dr. Denro Macario, Campus Director for NSTP; Dr. Brandon P. The Office of Student Affairs and Services (OSAS), in partnership with the Supreme Student Council (SSC), successfully spearheaded the election of the new set of officers of the Future Leaders of the Philippines (FLP) and the Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O) for the Academic Year 2026–2027.

The activity provided student leaders with the opportunity to exercise responsible and democratic leadership while selecting officers who will champion environmental stewardship, civic engagement, and student empowerment throughout the academic year.

The successful conduct of the election was made possible through the guidance and support of Ms. Allyson Jade O. Dajay, Campus Director for the Office of Student Affairs and Services; Mrs. Jazzy Jude Araza, SSC Adviser; Mrs. Razel Padronia, YES-O Adviser; and Ms. Eloisa Therese De La Torre, FLP Adviser, whose dedication to student leadership development continues to inspire and empower our student organizations.
