Just wear anything purple on all Wednesdays of March, especially on the International Women’s Day on March 8. You can also take photos and post them with the hashtags and ! 💜

The age of s*xual consent has been raised from 12 to 16! President Rodrigo Duterte signs into law Republic Act 11648 or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act. This increases the age for determining the commission of statutory r**e and aims to protect children from s*xual abuse and exploitation.

As part of the Women's Priority Legislative Agenda, the PCW has actively lobbied for the raising of the age of s*xual consent during the 17th and 18th Congress.

As we observe this year's Human Rights Day, we highlight Article 1 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) stating that “All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights.” We call for efforts to reduce inequalities and advance human rights. We call for actions and solutions to eliminate discrimination affecting the most vulnerable people in societies, including women and girls, indigenous peoples, LGBTQIA+, migrants, and people with disabilities, among others. Only with inclusion, equality, and non-discrimination can we achieve sustainable development.

Human Rights Day is observed every year on December 10, commemorating the day when the United Nations General Assembly adopted the UDHR in 1948. The UDHR is a landmark document, which proclaims the inalienable rights that everyone is entitled to as a human being - regardless of race, color, religion, s*x, language, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status.
