Harnessing Preparation
CNHS orients PESLA & LEGS to Grade 12 Students
September 9,2026 — Grade 12 students of Compostela National high school undergoes PESLA and LEGS seminar in preparation of thier work immersion. This seminar taught the senior high school student on what to prepare on the upcoming real time experience in workplaces.
Jaafar Esmael datumanong, new assistant principal of senior high uttered “ This training aims to provide important information on what really is on the outside world or incorporate world“.
Adequate Preparation
Lourito Jr. B. Doydoy, 1st Speaker and PESLA Focal, emphasized the importance of proper preparation and professionalism as students transition to the workforce during a Pre-Employment Seminar held at municipal gym of Compostela. As representative of Public Employee Service Office, Doydoy explained that the office’s objective is to _“ensure proper and efficient delivery of employment facilitation services” in the community.
He highlighted DOLE programs available to applicants such as Job Fairs, SPES, DOLE NSRP or the National Skills Registration Program, and TUPAD, saying _“pwede mi mag assist sa inyo para mahatagan ug livelihood program.”
Basic Rights in Labor
Joan Christine H. Malarios led a Labor Education for Graduating Students seminar to prepare future workers on their rights and responsibilities in the workplace. She emphasized the basic rights of employees under DOLE: equal work opportunity, security of tenure, proper work hours with overtime and rest day, fair wages, leave benefits, timely payment of wages, and labor standards.
Malarios also highlighted occupational health and safety rules and common workplace hazards like unsafe wiring etc, reminding students of their duty to obey, to be diligent, and to act good at work. The session aimed to equip graduating students with the knowledge to protect themselves and succeed in the outside world after school.
With both PESLA and LEGS seminars, Compostela National High School reaffirmed its commitment to not just produce graduates, but to produce graduates who are ready, responsible, and protected. As students step out of the classroom into the real workplaces for their immersion, they carry knowledge of their rights, awareness of workplace safety, and the right attitude on their workplaces. The training served as a reminder that preparation means acquiring stronger and knowledgeable workers for the future.
