Compostela, Davao de Oro - On October 18th, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) conducted an engaging Eco-Learning Caravan at Compostela Central Elementary School, focusing on the critical issue of anti-lead poisoning. The caravan aimed to educate young learners about the dangers of lead exposure and empower them to become advocates for a healthier environment.
The event featured interactive workshops, educational presentations, and engaging activities designed to capture the attention of young minds. DENR experts provided insightful information on the sources of lead contamination, the health risks associated with lead poisoning, and practical steps to prevent exposure.
Learners were particularly captivated by the hands-on demonstrations showcasing the different ways lead can enter the body, such as through contaminated food, water, and soil. The interactive activities emphasized the importance of proper hygiene practices, such as washing hands before eating and avoiding contact with lead-based paint.
The Eco-Learning Caravan served as a powerful platform to raise awareness about the significance of environmental protection and its direct impact on human health. By equipping learners with knowledge and empowering them to become advocates for change, the DENR hopes to inspire a new generation of environmental stewards committed to safeguarding their communities from the dangers of lead poisoning.
The event received positive feedback from both students and teachers, highlighting the importance of such initiatives in promoting environmental awareness and fostering a healthier future for all.

Each tree planted represented a step towards cleaner air, enhancing landscapes, and providing essential habitat for wildlife. This action not only contributed to the physical greening of the school grounds but also nurtured a deeper connection to nature among the participants. Through their efforts, they demonstrated that small actions such as planting a tree can have a significant and lasting impact on the environment.
The tree planting initiative served as a poignant reminder that by sowing seeds of change, we can cultivate a brighter and greener tomorrow for generations to come. Let us continue to sow the seeds of change, nurture our environment, and inspire others to join us in creating a more sustainable and eco-friendly future. Together, we can make a difference, one tree at a time.

The heart of the school isn't just found in classrooms or on playgrounds; it's thriving in the school garden. Thanks to the helping hands of the responsible students from Grade 6 Jupiter, the garden has blossomed into a symbol of responsibility, teamwork, and environmental cleanliness. These young heroes have taken on the task of caring for the garden, tending to plants, and segregating waste to fuel the compost pit.
Through their efforts, they're not only nurturing a greener space but also learning valuable lessons in sustainability, all while setting an example for the entire school community.
Students like those in Grade 6 not only serve the environment but also serve as models for the whole campus to look up to. The earth is our home, and there is no Planet B. We started this journey, so let's finish it. Let's be green and clean.
